Title: Re: Small church show in Houston Post by: matt_aggie04 on December 15, 2011, 08:12:26 am My wife grew up going to Houstons First Baptist and last year we decided to go to their Christmas show and I have to say it was impessive but IMO off base. They bring in camels and elephants and donkies into the church and it makes for a good show but the program itself dealt with santa clause and some other rather non "church" topics that I found to a deviation from what I was expecting to find in a church Christmas program. Apparentely we wernt the only ones that complained, from what I understand they were flooded with letters and voicemails expressing concerns along the same lines. If I want to see a play then I am going to go to the theatre but if I want to go to a Christmas program at a church with my family I pretty picky on what I want the message to be about. How do you feel about the message from the one at Second Baptist?

No real animals but lots exciting stuff then the message is presented with respect that is deserved. No Santa but a manger and a cross.
