I'm working today for the railroad.  The killing part is I'm at a papermill switching cars out today and they took this job off for a couple of weeks because of lack of production, but decided to put it back on just in time to make me work Christmas.

I worked an overtime shift (24 hrs.) on Christmas Eve and then my regular 24 hr. shift on Christmas Day. I'm tired of the inside of a fire station for awhile. :P But I have 2 days of now. ;D

That's true the office was shut down for five days and we just got supplies today for the first time in two weeks. But I haven't been home on christmas in, well I don't remember the last time. Maybe next year.

I went from missing most all Christmas gatherings in the Marine Corps to being a fulltime Federal Firefighter who works 48 hour shifts, and still misses Christmas with the family. LOL. However,my wife's dad is a Firefighter and is use to it. We gather when we can, but know that as long as we serve the Lord then it will all be ok.

Ya... dad's side of the family all works in the oil field. Very seldom do we have Christmas on Christmas Day or any where near it. This year it was on like Dec 10th. With all the 7/7.... 7/14... the most people could make it that day so thats when we did it.
