Title: Prayer Request for my Mom. Post by: mley1 on March 13, 2009, 09:35:12 am Ya'll, my mom called me yesterday. It was one of those phone calls you never want to get. She called to tell me that she had been diagnosed with malignant breast cancer....... I didn't know what to say....It was devastating news for our family.
Mom tells me the docs said they're going to do a lumpectomy to remove the cancerous tissue. Then, she thinks they'll treat her with chemo and radiation, but she's not real sure just yet. She thinks they caught it early. She say's she ain't scared. But, I am. I'm scared something terrible. Mom has always been the rock of our family. She needs some help now. Post by: bayinman on March 14, 2009, 06:06:21 pm just wanted to lift u up a little, i got that same phone call in 1993, just to let u know ur mom sounds like a very strong wonderful woman, just like my mom. am proud to say to this day everything is a ok and thats exactally what ur going to say to someone in 16 yrs. good luck and my prayers are with u and ur family!!!

She is in room 1270 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital on the north side of Houston. Hopefully, she will be allowed to come home tommorrow. We'll know in a few days whether the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. Thanks againg for all your prayers.

But, the doc prescribed some good medicine for that. She has a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks. And, we'll hopefully find out about the pathology report on the lymph nodes in a few days.
