Title: First hunt for the year and got a big boar! Post by: blakebh on January 07, 2012, 04:08:14 pm Me and Jeff met up with Jimmy this morning and ended up catching 4. The first three were pretty small but Fred rolled out and and showed treed at around a mile. Made the walk and sent Jane in from 100 yards or so and caught this big boy in a pond. He was a mean SOB and was putting a woopin on the dogs. He was throwing Jane around like rag doll and cut her up pretty good but nothing to bad. Had to work him a minute to get a leg and stick him but we got it done. Im guessing he was close to 300 and had some really good hardware.

He is a hell of a dog, and will be on the yard for years to come. Missed another good one on this round, but I was there in spirit. I'm glad everyone made it out safe. Fast recovery to Jane brother. You men did a fine job getting to them dogs before it got too messy. Time to play off the bench and put in Parker and Baus. Good Hunt and Hell of a Hog Brother!

Jane is layed up on antibiotics and should be out a few weeks but will be fine. She took 7 good cuts with the vest on and that sucker almost took her eye. He was probably the roughest hog I have been on considering she was only caught a few minutes.

Putting pressure on his leg again... couple rounds of Amoxacillin and a pain killer and he was good next day. He'll be out for a weekend or so, but he'll be back in woods like it never happened.
