They don't weigh enough to stop a running hog. I've had them and have had friends with them so I speak from experience. Good nose, hunt, and lotta grit but not hog stoppers.

Does 20 lb anchor sound logical to hold a 200 lb hog that wants to go somewhere? If the hog wants to stop and be bayed then it don't matter if the dog weighs 15lbs or 100lbs, its about the individual dogs quality to bay and the Hogs decision to stay, not the breed ability to hold one.

I have seen some terriers that are too aggressive and cause a hog to break that would have tried to stand still and should be a cull IMO and I have also seen terriers that know how and when to apply just enough pressure and a hog not feel threatend by the small dog and would stand and bay for the small dog but try to leave when a second dog show up.

Ya jagds are good to stop them ! I know a 200 pig an jake the 21 pound jagd stops the hogs from running I have watched him hang on anchor them hogs an I have leged hogs with him on them so when the hog is runnin though thick stuff u still have a anchor on that hog. lot of times hogs will stop an let jagds bay but once u get a big curr our bulldog an site of the hog he will break so I us one catchy jagd to stop them hogs so they will fight. I walk hunt I'm all about catching hogs an not leting  running hog run with out a dog on its ear !

Makes sence no matter what the size of the dog is.

Anything is possible but I guarantee my 60lb cur dog can slow a big hog down easier than a 20lb jagd but its your money and time. Good luck.

I hunt jagds and NO they are not good for stopping runners... They are gritty enough but not big enough, mine get raked off by trees all the time.

Ok guys I hunt a lot of dogs and I will say all dogs can stop a hog
We have a rat terrier that can stop a hog

That said it is not the size of the dog it is how it works in the woods

And yes they can and will

Over all maybe better than most
