What's y'alls opinion about hunting after all this rain?

hogs should be laid up during the rain and hungry when it's over and moving good from past exp.  just watch the creeks and rivers they're gonna be rolling real good

I don't like tearing up the farmers/ranchers land... Gonna be hard this wknd, can't hunt some of my better places. That being said I like hunting after rain cause it washes away all old sign and shows fresh sign !

throw on some old clothes and get out there! rain makes it easier for the dogs to pick up a fresh scent and makes for some fun hunts

tearing up farmers and ranchers land ?  damn kids leave them toys at home and go get em . i'm 56 years old and ain't hunted off an atv yet . just turn your dogs loose and follow them on foot . the state of todays youth just scares the hell out of me . there's a reason we say them old timers musta been tuff as hell . THATS CAUSE THEY WAS . 25 year old kids wont hunt cause they cain't ride on somethin  COME ON !!  ;D ;D ;D

I am 21 years old and do nothing but walk hunt keeps me in shape somewhat lol! Helps keep the beer wait off of me. So that being said i am gonna run the hell out of my dogs hopefully ill be posting some pictures of a caught hog for yal! Good luck hunting this week and weekend to everyone!

 apparently you hunt different kind of land than I do... Probably different dogs as well... And I'm gonna hunt but I'm going to change my strategy ... I will hunt smarter not harder ! it might be harder to recover the harvest that's all !
And my atv's are used as tools just as a horse would be used, you wouldn't call a cowboys horse a toy would you... Just saying.

My point was I will still hunt but I will be careful not to loss off my farmers by tearing up their land.

mike   excuses excuses  ;D ;D hell i remember one night me and my little brother walked 20  miles UPHILL before we even unleashed the hounds hunted all night got turned around and lost and wound up having to walk 32.5 miles UPHILL just to get back home . carrying a 60lb coon  >:D

Ha ha.. I know you are. I spent many years walking these govt woods from daylight till dark, but that was when the hogs around here were plentiful, didn't run like deer and were easy to bay and catch.

hell i know thats the truth . bout walked and worked myself to death .paying for it now . been worth ever minute of it tho . gonna have to get me one of them thar new fangeld machines purty soon .

Im with you halfbreed, I hunt the mtns behind hounds, ain't no atvs or utvs where hunt at all. But is dang sure nice to have when hog hunting in flat country. ;D

Some dogs you'd have a hard time keeping up with on foot lol. We hunt out of a suzuki sidekick and alot of the time we don't get in until 4 or 5 in the morning. We put 76 miles on the rig a couple of weeks ago.

Its probably a good thing you dont hunt off of an atv.... running them catahoula x walkers, you would probably have a hard time not running over all of them!!!  >:D  :laugh:

Am 50 and if I had to walk behind these dogs I would just hang it up are more like they would have to cover me up !  To many running hogs these days .

Thats why God made mules for, to ride in the back of trucks with the dogs, jump fences and allow the hog or coon/cat hunter to fall asleep on going back to the truck, it cracks me up $20,000 utv, trailer, and $4 gallon gasoline vs a mule, ride in the bed of truck, jump fence, eat 5 pounds oats a day an cube of costal and drives himself over a fence or takes ya back on auto pilot to the truck dragging a hog at the same timelol 
 
WE got 1 inch 3 tenths in Bee county, Groveland Florida could use some rain as well actually, 4 years we have not had cattle on the 1800 ranch down at woodsboro, Tx, I can not remember when i pulled the 4x4 low range and locked the front hubs in on my old 64 w200 crewcab, we need a Jan Hurricane and a Feb Hurricae and March and on and on to ever catch up, I am 55 years old and today i ran out of hay for my mule, i paid $26 for a 100 pound bale from Caliornia with 3 strings, had to cut into it in the truck to unload it since its to heavy for one legged geiserlol  Somebody is mad at Texas for sure, they say them Okies built a rain fence and been bogarting all the rain up there udder side o tha red rivva!!lol  I bet if we got a 6 inch rain down here it wash off 1000 acres of top soil into the gulf off my place, its horrid to see bare ground year after year for sure, only thing doing good down here is the oil patch up in Karnes County and all the wild hogs waiting for corn to be planted so they can vaccum it up down the rowslol
