Title: Coon vs lacy question? Post by: cajunhuntin on February 13, 2012, 08:41:16 am Tracker came very close to getting in a fight last night with a pretty big coon but I stopped him before he got to close! Question is who do you think woulda won? I've seen some coons tear up some pretty big hounds so do you think a 42 lbs lacy could have killed a 20 lbs coon?
Title: Re: Coon vs lacy question? Post by: T-Bob Parker on February 13, 2012, 08:46:30 am Hounds are pansies! I've never seen any cur over 6-7 months old have any trouble handling a coon. I think the lacy woulda won hands down

WOW rolleyes i was just saying i wouldn't say my dog could go hog hunting because i have not trained him to to that and i wouldn't expect your dogs to be able to blood track as well as my dog can because you have not trained YOURS to do that! BUT both dogs to me are equally as good as each other when trained to do any job! Cur's and Lacy's to me are still the smartest dogs in the world! I wouldn't own any other kind Title: Re: Coon vs lacy question? Post by: Jpepper on February 14, 2012, 03:12:23 pm My dogs can't make up their mind.... I got them for blood tracking wounded game but I'll be damned if they don't do it all for me. I guess I got some blood tracking hog dogs, Lol!
Title: Re: Coon vs lacy question? Post by: cantexduck on February 15, 2012, 05:03:36 am I think the hardest part of blood tracking is to get the dog to stick to tracking the one scent and to match the blood to the hoof scent of that animal . Strike dog follows scent,a blood dog follows a physical source of smell for part of the track. Any dog can be a blood dog, takes a real dog to be a tracking dog.
