Title: Bay dog pup Post by: mlee on February 23, 2012, 08:28:11 pm I have a 9 month old male catahoula bay dog. He's found one hog in a mock run. He will catch shoats up to 80 pounds. He won't go over 200 yards out. What's some ideas on how to get him to hunt further out and find hogs by himself

IT WORKS FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE. CHAIN OR KENNEL IT NEXT TO THE DOG YOU WANT IT TO FOLLOW. I ALWAYS PUT MY YOUNG DOGS NEXT TO MY BEST GYP. WHEN THEY START GOING DEEP WITH HER CONSISTENTLY THEN ILL LEAVE HER AT THE HOUSE AND SEE IF THEY WILL DO IT ON THEIR OWN.

My pups first time to the woods I boxed her with the main strike dog and she will run step for step most of the time with him good luck nothing is like the feeling when you see the main strike dog and pup bayin up first time.
