Title: hobbles with snaps on them
Post by: BRS on February 24, 2012, 09:39:26 pm
Just saw a pic that had four individual hobbles that snapped to a ring in the middle instead of being one peice. So here's my question where do you get them and if you git the do you like them?

They break eventually too. Just use rope, best way to go

They work really nice on big hogs.

The only time I have any use for them is when I'm hunting by myself, other than that I use mule tape or regular hobbles

They work great on big hogs but they allow the smaller ones to stand up on you after they are hobbled. I use them because they are easy and fast. Another good thing about them is the fact that if you are out of leads or loose your lead you can snap them together and build a make-shift lead. I had to do that once ;-) I always keep rope and a normal set of haobbkes on me as well. Oh yeah, if you break or loose one of the straps you can buy another set and piece the together.

I broke on of the snaps once.  Just broke in half.  They are good for mediumm size hogs.  On big hogs they don't open up wide enough to slide of the foot b/c of the snap in the middle.   They can't make them bigger becasue the hogs could stand up.  I use them on medium hogs where I can tie their feet up to a limb and off the ground.  Really easy to use.

these are really user frienly but the snaps didnt last long for me some would stick open and i found myself pulling hogs out of trailer that werent completely hobbled.  some of the snaps would stay open from mud or dirt and i had a few just flat break the snap part of the hook off.  ive been using the big boar hobbles from ugly dog.  all four hobbles are attached to one big ring in the middle.  good luck oh and ugly dog carries those as well.
