Title: Re: A couple up and coming hopefulls. Post by: charles on March 10, 2012, 11:11:43 am thank you black hog and noah. they look good, got def and muscle tone, which dont mean a hill of beans to actual hunt abilities. poncho likes to hover around my feet till he winds, twister will actually get out and try, or atleast he did on his first hunt last sun and lefty has not been in the woods yet. im hoping to get twister and lefty in the woods nxt wk, but will probably leave poncho at the house. he has been hunting numerous times and i really dont think he will ever leave my feet no matter how much he is hunted, but who knows. i am hoping for the best outa all them.

Title: Re: A couple up and coming hopefulls. Post by: Lance on March 10, 2012, 08:13:38 pm Good looking dogs Charles . Give them time and they might start rolling out. You might try hunting them two at a time and leaving one of the ones that wont leave your feet at the house. The one that you take might leave out with your other dog.
Title: Re: A couple up and coming hopefulls. Post by: charles on March 10, 2012, 08:19:57 pm Cattlemaster is one of his best lookin dogs also like pistolero. Title: Re: A couple up and coming hopefulls. Post by: charles on March 10, 2012, 08:25:28 pm lance, thats what im gonna do mon. im gonna lv poncho at hm and take twister and lefty, but this reformed cow dog does the same thing (hangs under my feet), but if there is a hog in the area, he will wind it and roll out. ive seen him do it on multiple occassions, so if he dont lv my feet, there aint nothing close by. i wish i didnt have to arrange hunts with other folks to hunt my dogs. dang no dog friendly public land >:( im not a good polotician, so aking land owners to hunt the land is kinda out of the question, especially when the guys i hunt with already have permission to hunt and im not gonna stab them in the back and hunt behind their backs.
Title: Re: A couple up and coming hopefulls. Post by: Randy_P on March 10, 2012, 10:22:28 pm Did Randy Wright give a guarantee on the poncho dog?? You say he wont hardly leave your feet and hunt so would you be able to return him on the 1yr guarantee basis and get another??
Title: Re: A couple up and coming hopefulls. Post by: charles on March 12, 2012, 04:01:56 pm i think randy did, but i was in afghanistan and had to paly email tag with him and im not taking him back. he will hunt, may have to deal with him being under my feet till he winds something.
well tried to make a hunt this morning. i guess i need to change the title to up and coming cow dogs. 1 dog trashed and all the dogs went that way. spent 45 min gather dogs and then said screw it. i was so mad, i could got rid of all of them, but they were pups so i cant expect much different. gonna have to put the fear of electricity in them. |
