I owned a little gyp off of a chinaman cross and she was a freak of nature. Soaking wet conditioned weight was right at 39lbs. They have unbelievable stamina. For sure go to garners kennels if you can make the trip. Jam up guy, met with him at a show and picked that gyp up and she was everything he said she was.

He's definately had one of the heavier influences on the bulldog world. His dogs make for great outcrosses. I myself am a Eli enthusiast, but you can't go wrong with a heavy Chinaman bred dog.
Title: Re: Tom Garner Pits Post by: curdog87 on April 12, 2012, 02:37:24 pm Your dang right Wilbanks $1000-1500 bucks is a dayum lot. I guess you can ask what you want tho if your the originator of the line. Also something is only worth what your willing to pay for it. Garner also wont just sell his dogs to the first person with the cash. He's real tight on who he sells a dog to. I say 80% Eli,Chinaman, and El Negro dogs are just bulldog puppies that were born black and the rest of the litter were brindle or red. By going to Garner yourself you know your getting the true thing, and it will be a straight "game dog".
Title: Re: Tom Garner Pits Post by: JC2 on April 14, 2012, 10:38:59 am Thanks for the input guys. I'm thinking of a small pit cross with some of my curs. Just figured dog agression might be an issue. I would definitly go to him for the dog or possibly just semen, just wonderin if yall had them on pigs

Title: Re: Tom Garner Pits Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on April 14, 2012, 02:32:54 pm I'd say that there's a risk of dog aggression with any bulldog. If you get one young, and get him used to the routine of hunting/working, you should be fine. But remember even if they don't start a scrap they will definatley finish one. I have one that has to ride seperatley and be with no other dogs, but when you lead him in to catch, he is a BEAST on a pig, and he don't care what or who else is around him.
