Title: Broke Jaw and still latched on ! Post by: JUG on April 22, 2012, 07:10:14 pm went out to the ponds today with John , Boggs & Ian .. we put dogs down and headed in , Jake struck out to the west about 250yds. and lil Buddy struck out and lit up about 150yds. north of us .. Jake showed tree on the garmin , so we headed to him . Hunter, Eco and Trigger got to him and the hog broke and ran another 100yds. and bayed up . we sent Major & Mac in from 200yds. and heard the squeel .. got to it and knifed it , 100lb. Boar ..
John & i headed to Buddy with Major & Mac , Hunter & Eco followed .. when we got to the track where buddy crossed the road , Hunter took it and was about 600yds. behind Buddy.. as we came out the woods Buddy was coming down the head land , we picked him up and seen Jake was tree'ed again . head to Jake and send Lil Buddy and Trigger to him .. the hog broke a few times but they stoped him long enough to get Mac to them .. as Major entered the thicket where Mac was caught the dogs went flying and the hog broke . Major & Mac follow the track until they stoped it again at 700yds . Mac & Major got to them and showed tree'ed .. when i got to the bay , John had the hog legged and told me to tie Mac up "i think his jaw broke again " ! i grabbed Mac and pulled , but he was locked on .i told John , i don't think its broke cause he is latched good .. after carefully breaking him off i tied him and look .. sure enough , it was broke up good on the right side at the bottom .. Ian got there and knifed the hog 200lb. boar and i got Jake and Buddy to get out .. Jake took another track , but i wanted to get Mac back to the truck , so i left Jake & headed to the guys .. as i get to the second boar i see Hunter tree then break tree then break and Jake and Buddy was headed to him .. so i grabbed Major and heaed to them .. sent Major to them from 300yds. as i get to the bay in some real thick stuff Major got shucked and the hog ran off with the pack .. i picked Major up and headed back to the bikes .. i ended up calling Jake and Buddy off the track and we called it a day .. put out at 6:30am and was headed home at 9:30am .. Major & Jake with the catch on the racks. Dog got heart is all i can say ! Post by: slckhunter1978 on April 23, 2012, 08:43:25 pm yep them bulldogs sure are some tough animals. i pulled mine off one time and he fell over soon as i got him broke off, he had done got way too hott from hog breaking and this good ole 100 deg louisiana heat.

Post by: JUG on April 24, 2012, 11:37:50 am Mac , is fine . had to remove his fronts, a K-9 & piece of jaw bone , the vet couldn't beleave that a hog had that much force .. cost $1000 to fix him up , but John M. didn't mind .. Mac is gona sit at home now and be used for a stud dog .
that arrow looks like it lost the power when it passed through the front shoulder blade , it was logded in the back where the ribs meet the back bone .. |
