Any one use this for fleas?

I've used it for years.  I put it on their food once a week, I sprinkle it in their houses, and I put in on the kennel floors.  I don't know how it works on fleas, but it will keep fire ants and other bugs at bay.  Actually I think it kills them.  It also keeps the dogs teeth from building up plaque, and it is suppossed to be a dewormer.  I put mine in an old seasoning container and keep it by the feed containers. 

Yep , all that u said is what I was told to do with it . I also have cousin that is a dairy farmer in Wiscinson and he actually eats a lil once a month himself . I'm not too sure if I will take it that far though . I know it helped with fleas in my grandmas barn , it's a sand floor .

Good stuff this is.....used it for awhile now as a dewormer. It kills insects by getting into the joints in the legs and exo-skeleton. This stuff is like microscopic razor blades....it tears insects up.....they can't get into it and live. Get it from the link HBR posted or from Ebay.

 This is what Ive always been told about it as well.  Diatomaceous earth, also known as DE, is what is used in some swimming pool filtration systems. When I used to work as a pool cleaner (many years ago), we were always told to be careful while handling the DE because it was a carcinogen. Of course the stuff used in pools isnt food grade. But I dont know what the difference is so Im a little scared of the stuff.

first time I hear of it...I wonder if mixing a little bit of sugar water in it if a fly would eat it and die...has anyone tried this?

I haven't used it yet but I'm thinking it will settle not mix but I'm just guessing on that . I just first heard about it last week when I saw my uncle putting it in my grandmas barn .

I saw it at Tractor Supply in Lufkin last week. I guess they're handling it now.....

Pretty much, it seems like you don't really need to worry about the food grade stuff because it has less of something in it, crystiline silica or something. Where the pool stuff is 70%, food grade is like 3%.
It says not to breathe in the dust, and it will irritate your eyes, but it also says the guys who mine the DE don't have problems, and that road dust, and grain dust are more harmful than DE dust.
It is used near grain storage to keep bugs out, so we all consume a little already.

Also read about feeding it to cattle, dogs, cats, and humans.

I ordered a bunch, I'm going to try dusting the dogs and feeding it to them.
I'll even eat some myself.
