I got some pups that are supposed to be half bmc n half pit they are supposed to be five months old. I've started letting them stand outside the pen when I work my bay dogs but they show no interest what so ever. Should I cull  or give them more time.

Have u showed em a little pig???? Get 1 20lbs r so and get it squealin in front of em.....try that a couple times, if they dont turn on with that in front of em then i think u will know what to do.

Been trying to find some little pigs but so far no luck so till I can get my hands on some just doing what I can.

at five months old they are babies. i wouldnt expect much from them until about a year old. i just showed one of the best blooded pups on my yard a pig in the pen friday and it didnt do a thing and he is seven months old. I took the same pup to the woods saturday and he rolled out hunting with the older dogs... there is no way i would cull one for not baying in a pen. unless you are just wanting a bay pen dog

I have 2 red nose pit pups [ 6 months old ] both males out of my bull dogs , they never seen a hog before , we took a bay dog and they pup one at a time and they both caught solid on the ear , there mother did the same at 4 months old and these were 100lb wild hogs ,another pup same daddy diffrent mother never seen a hog until it was a year old would run around and sniff there a$$ , almost got me hurt running in on a bay with 4 200lbers and a young CD running around trying to sniff there a$$ , he has turned into a solid catch dog after hunting him all year , most people wouldnt have worked with him this long, good luck

great hog dogs are born not made

you just have to work with them i've had dogs that wouldnt bay to save their life in a pen but you put em n the woods they'll bay their heart out.
i would suggest getting a small pig 20-30 pounds hold it by the ears and make it squel put your pups and an older dog with the pig and they should start baying if this dosnt work take them out put em on a chain for about 1-2 months dont mess with them except to feed and water then put em n the pen with a pig or tie a pig to a tree with muletape then they should bay

you need to know what kind of dog your getting   

Pups should be baying at 5 months old gt a small pig and put it in a small cage and let one of your trained up dogs bark at it and shock it with a cattle prod and the pups should go off but being half pit good luck with them baying at all you will be better off making them running catch dogs
