Title: puppys dont wunt to hunt with old dogs Post by: baddogs87 on June 05, 2012, 02:04:12 pm i have two 8 month old 1/2 cat 1/2 montt curr will hunt by there selfs and bay the fire out of a hog but will not run with any other dogs will fo to the bay if the older dogs bay but dont wunt to leave me if i have other dogs on the ground... im new to having my own dogs and love thes pupys when there hunt alone what to do? sell are keep and just hope there will start to hunt with other dogs

Title: Re: puppys dont wunt to hunt with old dogs Post by: Reuben on June 05, 2012, 06:02:21 pm Try penning them with the older dogs so they can bond and the pup will start to trust the older dog. x2...pen them together for a week or so or until they are comfortable around the big dogs...if you own a growly dog that constantly wants to remind other dogs and pups that he is boss and keeps whippin on them...I would get rid of that dog...he would have been broken of it as a pup or he would have been gone long time ago...either way I would never breed a dog of that type... what could be going on is that one of the dominant dogs is intimidating the pups in the woods or somewhere that the pups don't want to be around that particular dog or dogs... sounds to me like you have some good pups...I see it as a major setback if you sell them and a bargain for whoever would buy them... This is what I was getting at, just didn't have time earlier to explain. If them pups are indeed already getting it done on their own, then I wouldn't care less if they pack with the older ones. Leave the older ones at home and hunt the tar outa them pups.
