A father protecting his child.  He literally beat the offender to death with his hands.  It makes me smile.    ;D

SHINER, Texas -
A father beat to death with his hands a man who tried molesting his 4-year-old daughter after the little girl was heard screaming on the family's rural Texas ranch, authorities said Monday.

Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said the father, whose name has not been released, is unlikely to be arrested for Saturday's killing and that no evidence so far has led investigators to doubt his story.

"There doesn't appear to be any reason other than what he told us," Harmon said.

Harmon said the victim was a 47-year-old man from Gonazles with no apparent prior criminal history. His name continued to be withheld Monday because authorities still hadn't tracked down any of his family.

The victim was an "acquaintance" of the father who had come to help care for some horses, Harmon said. He did not know how long the two men may have known each other. The girl was taken to a hospital to be examined and has since been released, Harmon said.

The father called police late Saturday afternoon and told them he attacked a man caught trying to sexually assault his daughter, Harmon said. The alleged attack happened near a barn where some horses were being kept.

"In the course of trying to get her away from him, and protect her, he struck the subject several times in the head and the subject died," Harmon said.

Harmon said a grand jury will decide what, if any, charges the father will face.

The victim's body was sent to the Travis County medical examiner for an autopsy.

The ranch near Shiner is about 130 miles east of Houston. Killings are rare in rural Lavaca County: Harmon said his office has only investigated six since in his eight years as sheriff.

It didnt surprise me when i heard grandpa speaking in spanish,in mexico they turn a lot of child molestors over to the town folk where they end up beaten to death or set on fire in the street! The father did exactly what i would have done in that situation and the offender will have his time with the devil for eternity. God bless Texas!!!!

Man my prayers for the father and that child. While I am glad that is one child molester that will not repeat his crime that poor little girl.

Only part I dont like is they keep calling the dead dude "victim".  Hope he burns in hell.  Ive always to see if it is possible to rip someones throat out, this dude would have been someone good to try it on.

One thing for sure and that is he will NOT be a repeat offender.

Happened right by my hometown. He got what he deserved no doubt. The father is a hero IMO, and the SOB was possibly from mexico, big surprise there.

I agree, it doesn't matter what race you are there is good and bad in all races. And that man is lucky he didn't meet me cause I would have done a hell of a lot worse then what that father did. I'm talking torture and removing his favorite appendage, just saying. :D I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter a 2 1/2 year old son and a 1 year old son and I'll be damned if someone like that will come near my children! One less pervert in the world thank god for that! I know god doesn't believe in killing but I think in this case he might make an exception.

It would be a situation in which I don't know what to do. My imagination would get the best of me when teaching this guy a lesson. Heck I'd say cut his jewels off for starters... But it's been taken care off so prayers going out to the father and the daughter

I am glad the a hole was caught but even catching someone would not be worth what my kid would have to go through or live with for the rest of there life....I would rather it never had happened to anyones child, period.

In my opinion, the little girl was the victim, the daddy should be complimented on his actions,    and the pervert should be put on public display. How anyone could try and take that innocence is beyond me. Best wishes to the little girl and the family. I'd like to shake the daddy's hand!
