EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

Ok, sittin on the porch with the wife havin a drink. She goes out in the yaRd to rescue a toad the yapper dogs are harassin. I get to thinkin , when I was a kid toads seemed much much larger in size ? I mean like fist sized or bigger. They were huge back in the day, I'd catch em and bring em in as pets till mom found em and they were released to be found and captured by my buddies next door. So my question is, has anyone else noticed that toads are no longer big like that, or did they just seem really big cause I was so young ? Did they shrink like Wendy's cheesburgers or what ? And before ya reply, I've only had 2 drinks !! Are there any big toad bloodlines still out there ????????

 i would venture to say a little of both your theories/questions. as a kid, our hands are small, but if you look at animals in the past were huge compaired to know days. it may be another climate/ecosystem changes. i may be wrong, but it sounds somewhat plosable.

see i told ya !! old ba-rak was tired of them big toads stealin his pee-nuts and had them genetically modified .

still got big toads at my house..caught one the other day that was a little smaller then a softball but most are smaller then that round were I live

used them for fishin alot and now that you mention it they seem to be getting smaller

We've got a bunch of cane toads around here, they really start comin' up into the barn when its wet. I killed 6 of 'em last night with a hot shot, but they were all pretty small, about snuff can sized.
