Title: TN gun laws
Post by: dub on June 25, 2012, 11:41:54 pm
I may be spending some time up in TN and wanted to know about the gun laws. Like in Texas there are the legal reasons to carry a handgun but if you have a shotgun the cops don't bother you as much.  I will be in Memphis and not in the nice areas so I figure I will bring a couple dogs and at least one gun. But if I have to go check on my truck or equipment at night what should I walk outside with? Is it like in Texas that you can use deadly force when in fear for your life? Or do they say I should run back inside? I am not planning on shooting anybody and I can get along with most people. But I like to know if I should just let tools get stolen or go stop them and hope things don't turn ugly. I ain't shooting nobody over stuff but you don't know how they may react. I prefer a mild beating and hog tie them ;D I like to take hogs and thieves alive ;D

Im not sure on exact laws, but up here or in most any county, its perfectly normal to be seen with a gun. We do have the carry permit, where you can legally carry a concealed hand gun.
Not sure about city laws in Memphis, its pretty rough place all the way around.

Carry a machete or a high point 9. The high points cheap enough so when u run out of bullets just throw it at em. Lol. But on a real not I have been in memphis and had rather carried than not. You never no when a feeming cracked out speed junky might come after you.

It is the druged out person needing a fix that I am worried about. I will always have a big dog in my truck and a gun with me.
