anybody ever use a treadmill to exercise your dogs when you can't go hunting? had a buddy bring this idea up to me the other day says hes gonna start exercising his bull dogs to keep them in shape. I'm thinking bout exercising all my dogs this way, cause when I have my kids I can't hunt because of my exwife declaring it inhumane and unsafe for me to take my son with me and threatening me with lawyers and that whole mess. So gotta do something to keep these dogs conditioned.

Treadmills are great for bulldog exercise that's how weight pullers are trained

get you a horse run and clip the dog up to it and just out of reach put a toy or a stuffed animal and let em run ;)

On the treadmeal how do u set oy ip for a dog. Like have a clip to hook collar too or???

Dangle a dog biscuit in front of him like on the cartoons or like the little boy on "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" did on the ant.......... That was a throw back right there. Or just clip him to. I had a buddy that his pit would do it on his own.

Stepmom gave me a tread mill haha im in business. Se ok theres a number 2 ton on craiglist cheap as well

They work well.  Don't own one anymore, but used to use them when conditioning a bulldog for a conformation show.  Slat mills for endurance/lean muscle.  Carpet mills are more of a anaerobic activity, builds bulk muscle quicker.

All I did is lead him up on it then point him right n stand beside him so he couldnt jump off, start slow n when he got going I clipped leash where he had enough slack to let him get to back of treadmill but not come off.

Here is a carpet made mill made by a friend of mine, these are the best by far, as Ive seen others in action. The workmanship and quality he puts into them surpasses the others IMO.

Looks good and Im gld that pupp took to it good.. I would suggest maybe using some side boards/walls to prevent the dog jumping off or losing concentration. Also, I would be sure to empty the dog out before the walk/run on the E-Mill (electric treadmill)  Good luck!!!

ya he did good went about n hour. i just watched the vid someone mayb u posted n gave him a few hotdog peices as he went then he finally just let us backoff as he troted lol

thats good, gettin them started early is half the battle for when there older.  How old is that pup? How fast does that mill go?

Umm not sure faster thsn I wanna run lol. He will b six months the 27 th he was 67 lbs last night
