Ok guys im going to be having a litter of white deer bred akc/ukc registered plott
hounds out of my 2 best dogs. What do you guys think would br an honest price for
a pup? && would anybody be interested in one

Weren't you just GIVEN these dogs to help you out?

i was given these dogs yes. my brother is the.one im posting for he's not registered on this site so he said to sale them for him or attempt to. i havnt even put mine in the woods. i guess it would have made more since to say they were my brothers huh? sorry about that

messed up again in the first sentence. ok to clear it up my dogs arent involved.in this at all. the ones im refering to are my.brothers.

austin do what you wanna do with whomever's dogs you want  lol  go to the ukc boards and biggamehoundsmen sites and get in the plott section and look and see what the plott breeders are asking for pups that will give you a better idea than this board as far as their worth . them plott's ain't cur dogs anymore and will hunt anygame they are put on bear lion b-cats you name it . expand your horizens and have at it  lol  .

  So your brother has the same dogs that you just were given ? By same,I mean breed.  No need to deploy smoke.
If you just got these dogs don't market them to be great dogs for anything. A breed doesn't make a dog. Judge by individual dog.

id give him 100 bucks for a couple. unless he has dogs that i can name i wouldnt pay much more for one. now there are some fellas on here, not mentioning names but i would pay a good 500 for a nice gyp

I think a fair asking price would be 50-75 a pup.  Anyone willing to pay more is probably going to ask a lot of questions and if you dont have the answer they need to hear or enough experience with hunting the parents, registration wont matter and they probably wont pay much more than 75.

Two youth on BigGamehoundmen were asking for free dogs to get started, so a hunter gave them two good dogs, they came back two weeks later looking for more dogs,he ask what happened to the two I gave you, Oh we sold them for 375 each,we want more.

I would of wore out a good plow handle out over their heads.

I'd consider that nothing more then thievery  ;)

which white deer dogs do yours come out of, and which do your brothers come out of?

Ummm ??? I thought those dogs were free,I'm still fairly new to this but are they your best because they hit the ground finding hogs or because they're your only dogs?? :DI was practically given all my dogs a while back and considered breeding my young male(rangey and not real gritty) to my finished, no more then nip female(what I like). but, the guy I got them from said to wait and see what the male does after he matures. Sure enough, he started opening up and started riding the back tire and waiting for a bay(not what I want) either wait give them s couple years and you may find you have more dog then you can handle or not enough. Jmo...not trying to rub you the wrong way, just telling you've what I've learned..... Btw,breeders ask a pretty penny for proves reg plott, but then again the have the reputation to back it up or will show the parents hunt....at least anyone I would consider giving hundreds of dollars for a bigger dog food bill. JMO. Like I said, I'm still new to the sport

Yes i was given 4 of them by Josh Kelly in exchange for 2 pups out of the gyps next heat, they should hit the ground around october! tjose are the dogs i was talkin about in my other thread! i am not even talking about my dogs in this yhread im talkinh about my brothers dogs his gyp is goin to be droppin sometime this month we.hope

This is something that bothers me right here.  This is a public forum, we all understand that and a great site.  Age has nothing to do with any topics on here. I see teenagers get on here and get their feathers ruffled and pull the "I'm a teenager card, why are you picking on me".  Age has nothing to do with this, you're old enough to raise and hunt dogs you're old enough to respond as a mature adult.

This isn't just me saying this to you by no means, but I've seen teenagers get on here, talk crap, pull the card, and realize they are in over their heads and sure enough here comes uncle and gramps sending threatening and dumb PM's over a simple argument.  If you're old enough to post and start a thread, you're old enough to take some heat.  Why even pull the teenager card.

Not that I'm taking sides, but we grown folk do need to remember sometimes that whether it's a teen puppylove relationship, or sports or hunting with dogs, everything seems way longer time to a teen.
I work with teens and every summer you'll have some kid fall head over heels in love in a week at church camp then cry like it's adivorce when it's time to get on the bus.

To someone who's only lived 13-17 years, a few months can seem like an eternity. Proven medical science shows a teenagers brain is still squishy and not done growing till about 25.

This is why a teen will get a dog and as soon as it honors a bay or tree, they think it hung the moon. They're not being rude or stupid, just haven't done as much livin yet.




Now, if a any teen has a mouth geared toward rudeness or dishonesty, that can be a lifelong ailment and should be cured ASAP. This young man says he slipped up, maybe he did, maybe he didn't, let it go and let his own conscience deal with wether he did or not.

I can agree and didn't mean for the post to come off like it did, but I still stand behind my view on having a conversation.  It's a conversation, no need to pull the teenager card.

And for others, you know yourselves, no need to cry to old Unc and get the nasty messages started again. Nobody wants to get messages about being skinned and gutted cuz we didn't agree with you  ;D

so the only way you are gonna settle this is to post photos of all six  of the plott hounds, the four kelly gave you and the other two your brother has especially because they are all the same exact genetics.

It all depends on the parents, grand parents, great grand parents abilities. I sell mine for $300 @ 6 weeks old. The older they get the more they cost or just depends on who it is and what kind of mood im in.
    If its not a proven cross and people ain't ringing your phone off wanting pups, I would say $150 would be a fair place to start. You van always come down.
