Title: french hound?
Post by: Purebreedcolt on August 20, 2012, 09:16:02 pm
Found some and have never heard of them.  Looked them up and they say they make great deer dogs so I'm wondering if any one has tried them on hogs?

The gascon santengenois hounds are great dogs, they are extremely heat tolerant and can run for a long time. I have a friend with one and he is a good dog, he is getting more as well.

They can be really smelly and have a bad potty mouth.

Liontracker on BigGameHoundsmen raises pups and sell them brought from France [pups $1000 buck apeice,] you could get a yard full curs and plotts for that.

my buddy crosses them up with other coonhounds and they are considerably cheaper and seem to blend the better characteristics of both coonhounds and the gascons. They are also much cheaper.
