Title: Collars not charging need help
Post by: gman87 on August 29, 2012, 10:35:12 pm
I have 2 dc30s that won't charge. One has been that way for awhile and the other one just started. When I try to charge it the light comes on but it never charges. Anything I can do? Any ideas or help would be nice thanks.

Check the connections. That little slot that the charger fits in will get packed with dirt. Rinse it out and scrub it out with a toothbrush......or pick it out with a pocket knife. ;). I've noticed on mine that the brass slide gets a corrosion layer on it from the water etc. Also if you r leaving them in your truck or other hot area they won't charge right away until they cool down. Hope that helps.

gman,

mine did the same thing.  If you will take the collar and battery case apart you will see two connections.  Take the connections apart and leaqve them apart for 20 minutes.  Put everything back and they will charge again.  All you need is a small phillips screw driver.  The 20 minutes resets the battery in some way.  I've had to do this to two of my 30s.  Now they work great.

Turn on the collar for about 15 seconds after connecting the charger, then turn it off.
