20 yrs ago i had a old timer always tell me "youth is a wonderful thing but it is wasted on the young"  ,,  im starting to understand what he was saying  ;D   

Broke my back in 2003 fipped a horse end over end ropeing a yearling in a cypress bottom the horses foot went between 2 cyprees Knees and fipped him in a dead run.I did rope the yearling and was tied hard but some how it poped of the horn.I laid in the middle of 7000 acres before they found me hurt like hell they said I would never ride again I started riding 3 months later I have been riding ever sence.My wife sold that horse while I was down she said that he was going to kill me or I was going to kill him!He was one of the bettr horses I have ever rode you give him his head and he would get you there no matter what was in the way!I broke more hogs down on him then any horse I had ever own.I ride several different horses now but there is one my wife says if I turn my head she is going to sell him to cause when I say I can keep up with them dogs I mean it this horse will plow right over the top of one reach out and try to bite it.My point is you will be back in the saddle sooner than what you thank.

I think ol Craig is tough enough that he won't let the knee keep him down for too long either.

   Just jokin around...don't take it personal as I don't know you personally. ;)  If I thought you would take offense to it, I never would have typed it.

I don't take it pesonal I do not take offense out of it I took it as a joke!But I still want you to tell me about the movie!Or the book if you read it.LOL

 i have a really good freind who helped me alot back when i had my cow dogs, one morning we turned the dogs out at 6 am by 6:30am had all of the cattle penned and sorted off the calves and on the road to stockyards by 8am,,   we were loading up and the guy asked if we had time to go catch a calf on the neighbers place so shure we went over,,,  i put one dog on the ground to bunch them and i was going to walk in and snag the calf out, well i was riding a colt that morning so my buddy said let me catch him, so i didnt argue i let him go.
when he steped in behind the calf it shot out of the bunch and he fell in behind him, he went around a bush and his horse slipped, he knew his horse was going to hit on his side so he pulled his foot out of the stirrup, and just right before that horse hit on his side he caught himself, but he stepped on my buddies foot with his back leg and when the horse jumped up my buddy caught the saddle horn with his left hand and when that horse poped all the way up sent my freind flying like a spear .. he landed on top of his head and rolled flat on his back not moving a muscle i rode up to him and he was gasping for air...   i looked him in the eyes and asked him if he could breath,he shook his head from side to side and that scared the crap out of me....  i jumped off my horse and started blowing air in him having no idea what i was doing i asked him if that was helping he shook his head up and down.,  we finally got life flight out there and took him to Tulsa.

thats been six years ago and he is still in a wheel chair to this day.

so freaky things can happen..

i used to think i couldnt get hurt and never did,,  but i have been a little more careful after seeing an ace cowboy go to the wheel chair in one afternoon

yes that was the first thing I did was see if I could feel my legs because I heard the back pop and was in some pain.But I do not wish it on anybody laid in bed and not being able to play with my kids is not a good thing! Sorry about your friend!

Not trying to mess up your thread about the broke back moutain thing I thought it was pretty funny.Chris got me!!!!!!!!!!!!

  That is one helluva good looking set of dogs.  I love to see those yellow dogs doing what they do best.  With a set like that you won't never have to worry about going hungry.
