Not sure how I can help you?  Are you wanting to breed a male of yours to someone elses female?

I just had a litter of 9 hit the ground Sunday, Lost two but the other 7 are fat and sassy.  I have 6 females and a male.  The male is bound for Florida and I plan on keeping 3 of the females.  Haven't decided on the remaining 3 females and I'm not in a hurry to sale them.

I have two males that are pretty fair strike dogs and two adult females.  May be putting one of the females up for sale this winter after this female weans the pups.  Only reason I'd sell her because she's too open for me.  The other female and the two males are silent on track and that's what I'm breeding for and intend on running.

But even with her being mouthy, the little gal can find hogs and keep em bayed until help arrives, I just get tired of her talkin'.

You are welcome to breed your female to one of my males anytime you'd like.  Both are silent on track, very smart dogs, easy to handle, have plenty of range, and have more than enough grit for my hunting style.  Meaning they'll respect a big hog and let the catchdogs catch and on the smaller hogs, well, you may not need a catchdog.  Translation for me means less doctoring and more hunting.   8)

boarsnest...the good kemmers can compete with any good dog...I bred mostly gold nugget and ronnies ole trouble kemmer dogs with some Texas Smoke blood which were large OMCBA mtn curs...This cross produced some rough fast hunting dogs that had range and stick. I bred them from the late 1980's till 2007...I now have 5 five month old 1/2 parker 1/2 kemmer pups and will cross some of that to a pure Kemmer/texas smoke male...

People tend to forget that Mr. Kemmer bred his dogs for hogs, first and foremost.  It was how he made his living for many years.  Now people associate the dogs as strictly tree dogs and don't give them credit as a hog dog.  I like to prove them wrong.   ;D

Robert has not hunted his Kemmers on hogs or bears in a very long time. I worked with him years ago trying to get some good hog dogs and never really got what I was looking for. I do not believe in breeding unproven dogs and he has done that for a long time and still does.. At one time he had 100 dogs in his yard and could not even come close to hunting all of them. Not saying he is not a knowledable nice guy because he is, just do not think the dogs are what he use to have!! There is no doubt he had some good dogs when he got his dogs from Ledbetter and was working at Renegade hunting everyday, but its hard to find some jam up big game Kemmers. I wish they would of worked for me because I spent alot of money and time trying. Had a few okay ones, but never the type I was looking to get!!

boarsnest. Not saying that there are not some good Kemmers. Just saying they are few and far between. I do not know to many breeders who breed unproven stock in any breed of hunting dog. That is why it is getting harder every year getting top big game dogs. IMOA.. More back yard breeders breeding stock that should not be bred. Mr Kemmer is a very nice man and he remembers every dog that was in his yard since day one. He had some good dogs when he was hunting everyday at Renegade. He is a small game hunter with Feist now, and more people are using Kemmers for that as well. Its hard to have Top dogs produce themselves, and even harder for unproven dogs. Enjoy whatever breed puts the game in front of you!!
I had better luck for my style of hunting with Florida Curs. Going by myself with just 1-3 dogs that have to be silent, medium range, and catch their own hogs by themselves. Do not know to many people that have that kind of Kemmer. I have always liked the looks, athletic ability, and nose of a Kemmer but most were not silent or yipped on trail. What line of Kemmers do you have??

i didnt take offense i agree completley with what you say about backyard breeders and breeding unproven dogs, i just had a littler out of my dogs and its sad to say it was an accident and probably wont ever happen again being that they r some kemmers that would produce good pups the pups r 7 weeks old and baying a shoat in the living room, or if it does it would be several years down the line, i got the kemmers that i have from ricky griffin when they were pups, there all silent on track till in a race or looking at em they will all catch all tight gritty bay i never had to trash break the dogs i only showed em hogs and nothing else for a long time and they act like theres nothing else in the woods but a hog, i have won several comp hog bays with my sandy and bear dog woods or pen they get it done for me i do have different breeds that i run also but i enjoy the kemmers the most.

this pup is 50% kemmer and 50% Texas Smoke bred which makes him pure mt. cur...He is like his grand sire in that he does not really bay just has a unique roar...When I heard him for the first time I new he was going to be more of a catching type strike dog...He is making a good strike dog but his sister hunts as well as the good ones I had...they are 15 months old right now.

below is his sister in the back ground...she has the grit also...

these dogs are slightly smaller than what I like and the hair a little longer as well...my friend basicly has the same bloodline I helped him start with but he likes his somewhat different than what I like...but the foundation blood is still there...I am just glad I was able to get some of it back...

it doesn't matter what breed because in every breed there are more culls than good dogs...the reasons in my opinion are many but one stands out and that is that in nature the law of average runs high and this includes breeders as well...average to me in a hunting dog is a cull or a stepping stone to better dogs...

I currently have 4 adult Kemmers, and the best of the 4 was born at Robert Kemmers on October the 6th, 2008.   He's the daddy to the pups that were born here last Sunday.  He's silent on track, has plenty of horsepower in his engine, and doesn't need help with finding or baying a hog.
Funny thing is, of my 4 adults, 3 were considered culls and were given to me.  The original owners, all from back east, tried them on coons but they didn't have the desire to tree game so they ended up with me.  I always tell them, 'keep sending me your culls!"   ;D

Here they are, my 3 culls.  Jack and Daisy are the parents to the pups on the ground now.  Ty is the other cull.  His original name was TyCoon, since he was a coon dog.  I just shortened it to Ty.   :D

This is a 22 second clip of the same hog.

This includes my other female, Bonnie.

I've tried a lot of breeds, both full blood and every cross in between, I just have found that the Kemmer suits me and my hunting style but that certainly doesn't make them the best hog dog by any means.  They are just the dogs I choose to feed and hunt behind.  To each their own as they say.

the majority of kemmers are colored like DSmiths dogs...but they come in brindle and black with brindle trim as well as blue, blue brindle, blue and tan true and solid blacks...

usually when a yellow kemmer is crossed with a mtn cur that is not related you tend to get lots of brindles even when bred to another yellow dog.
