Title: Dog trade late at night? Post by: gtown dogger on October 31, 2012, 03:11:12 am Ok so when I'm working nights, I look and see what I can find interesting . And a lot of time I see people selling dogs as good dog hunt out good nothing wrong, but then it gets me thinking is it that is there really nothing wrong with the dog or is it they got back from a bad hunt and the dog messed up and wanna get rid of it ? Just curious what yalls opening is on why people sale good dog so late I've seem plenty posted for sale after midnight up to 3-4 am. And this aint aimed at anyone in perticular .
Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: hansonw on October 31, 2012, 03:38:25 am Well I don't even look at the dog trade just because I here so much negativity about it but to others defense maybe they work nights too. The only time I look at the forums is usually like right now and it's 3:37 am where I'm at
Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: Reuben on October 31, 2012, 06:00:11 am the way i see it... if it is a pup a year old or an older dog there probably is something wrong with it and with a small pup it is luck of the draw...I would rather buy 2 or 3 small pups and take a chance on luck...at least with 2 or 3 pups one increases the chances of getting one or more good ones if they are out of good dogs...better yet breed your own line...
Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: S_J_KENNELS on October 31, 2012, 04:29:18 pm I have sold some when I had my dogs that were like that. Nothing was wrong with the dog(s). Just something I personally did not like about the dog. Dog performed, did its job, no problems at home or in box, but there was something I either did not like that I could not explain, or in most cases was not rough enough for me. Mostly not rough enough for me. I liked dogs that would catch anything under 150 or so, and if it was bigger and showed its ass to run better catch no matter what to keep it from running. If the dog did not do that or just sat back and bayed while the other dogs were fighting the hog to keep it stopped etc... it was gone.
Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: BA-IV on October 31, 2012, 04:39:44 pm Well nobody is gonna go out to their dog yard and pick their best dog and put it on the dog trade. Tey are gonna pick the one that is making the mad, not hunting worth a crap, and generally just a cull. You might get lucky and find a diamond every once in awhile but it doesn't hardly happen.
I think it's pretty funny as soon as a thread pops up on dogos, game bred Pitbulls, hog finding poodles, ridgebacks, or whatever else, within two days there is 20 people selling those exact dogs and about 50 people looking for em ??? Some people can't seem to put two and two together, because "If the grass looks greener over there, it's because it's fertilized with Bullnumber 2!" ;) Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: TeJaShOgSlAyER on October 31, 2012, 04:47:33 pm generally you wont find a good dog at all in the dog trade you just gotta get to know some people on here let learn to trust with you eventually you will get a pup out of some good blood or you might get lucky like i did and get a dang good dog! I got a couple real good friends on this forum one of them is a home town be he helped me get started and we hunt together time to time still! Then i met someone on this forum that is a great guy and i would still be just getting lucky from time to time and running into a hog! but he helped me really jump start with some 2 great dogs and a pup and now i go and catch plenty of hogs lol! You just gotta meet the right ppl and wanna learn stuff there are a few older guys on this forum that are stand up guys and if you wanna learn they will help ya just gotta find em!

Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: dub on November 30, 2012, 11:13:41 pm I figured out to just get a pup. There is always an extra pup and you can get a get dog that way. But who is going to raise a dog and train it and then sell it for $200? If I have fed a dog for a year or two and worked that dog I ain't putting it up on the dog trade for $200. I had someone joke with me to grab a stray dog and call it a hog dog. Now I don't think they were joking. I bet they would put it up in the dog trade section too.

Have 20 posts and 19 of them are selling dogs, red flag!!!! Selling their pack and two weeks later buying more dogs, red flag!!! You hit the nail on the head in my opinion. I have noticed that there are quite a few who post primarily in the dog trade. 20posts and 15+ are in the dog trade should be a big red flag!!!! I put a damn good dog on the trade earlier this year for a damn good price because he hunted WAY to far out for my liking. There are people on this site that will vouch that he would leave out and hunt. I had literally over 40 texts/PM'S about the dog in under 24hrs. Anyway I drove over an hour from my house to sell him then returned home and loaded my dogs to go hunt an hour in a different direction. At 3:00 A.M. I got a text saying that I screwed the guy I sold him to and blah blah blah.........I told the Man that I sold him to that I would gladly buy him back if he didn't do what I said he would. So when I got home at 4:00 A.m. and unloaded my dogs I got back in my truck and turned around and drove all the way back to buy the dog back after hunting all night. When I picked him up he had blisters the size of baseballs on both front legs due to a vest being on him way to tight. BURNED MY ASS!!!!! >:( >:( ..........to top it all off before I left he tried to sell me a dog that would "sure enough hunt" unlike the one I sold him..........come to find out a month or two later that the dog he tried to sell to me wasn't even his......he stole it from a so called "friend"................Then I also learn that numerous people are looking for the guy due to shady dog deals........................................... Long story short I no longer use the dog trade.........but I do check in just to see who is sellin what and to burn time at work lol. ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: Dog trade late at night? Post by: halfbreed on December 07, 2012, 10:46:07 am lol thast why i very rarely put dogs on the dog trade . i like for the new owners to have a [ little ] dog savy . plus the fact i put in bold font NO TEXT MY PHONE DONT TEXT . and after i push the post button i start getting text after text that i don't answer , amazes me to no end .
