Title: Separating a pregnant gyp Post by: wine6978 on November 26, 2012, 06:26:50 pm Who all separates their gyp when she is having puppies? Why do you do this or why do you not do it??? I mean from a few days before she has em to the pups being weened??
Title: Re: Separating a pregnant gyp Post by: Reuben on November 26, 2012, 06:30:47 pm separate her before she has her pups...if not she will get nervous around the other dogs and she will swallow her new born pups...she needs to be away from other dogs when she has her pups...at some point in time she will allow the other dogs around her pups...

Title: Re: Separating a pregnant gyp Post by: Curcross1987 on November 26, 2012, 10:50:17 pm I believe it depends on the gyp and if they have had pups before or not the last litter of pups I had I had the jip and the male dog in the same pen but I knew the dogs if I thought there would have been a problem I would have separated them but if you have the slightest doubt I would separate
