Title: Re: bulkimg up a dog Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on December 16, 2012, 07:24:05 pm Hand walking helps with muscle tone. 'Bulking' them up is bad....it takes twice as much oxygen to feed those muscles. I'd want my dog his strongest at his lightest weight....
Title: Re: bulkimg up a dog Post by: Dino1 on December 16, 2012, 07:50:51 pm The key is find the lightest weight you can bring your dog down to without causing him to loose strength. It involves a combination of diet and excercise, running being the best.
Title: Re: bulkimg up a dog Post by: fonzie on December 16, 2012, 07:59:51 pm Like Mr Whitten said "lean and mean" that's where I'm going with this... I have the lean but my dog has little muscle.. he is at a constant pace up and down his kennel just wanted to see if anyone give their dogs a little something to get them more muscle tone..

Title: Re: Re: Re: bulkimg up a dog Post by: okboarhunter on December 17, 2012, 03:10:06 pm Treadmill X2 I run my bullydog 2-3 miles every other day of course with breaks Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I847 using Tapatalk 2 Title: Re: bulkimg up a dog Post by: halfbreed on December 17, 2012, 04:34:18 pm well when putting weight on a dog you want to be sure you are putting muscle on a dog and not fat . i can still only bench press the weight now at 200lbs that i could at 155lbs a couple years ago lol you can't add bulk without exercise or you will just be slowing your dogs down . but on a second note rice is a good carb used to bulk dogs up before a show but just be sure and exercise them while adding a high fat carb .
