Post by: J_Poiencot on December 24, 2012, 11:13:13 am
What is every one oppinion on bluetick lines, and what bloodlines are the best for coon hunting? Which dogs have the best confirmation and the best noses?

Cameron blueticks are known for the coldest noses and are used on coons and big game. Good luck getting one though. If you actually buy one from Mr. Cameron, the waiting line is over a year at most times.

Thanks everybody. Me and my buddy are wanting to get a pup with a strong bloodline and tree in back ground. Still trying to find the best kennels to look at and talk to. I don't mind driving to get one.

If I was you I would buy a started dog , papers or bloodline or kennel name Anit gonna guarantee the pup will be worth nothing , if you get one that's started an is going you can see that it atleast has potential

I don't mind driving up to 10 to 15 hours if it's worth it. And I don't know how much yet, just depends on the dog I guess. How much do started dogs go for?

Just as many slow walkers as there is any other breed , walkers tend to be more hot nosed because more people comp hunt walkers ,
Blue ticks usally have a little colder nose not always

Do you want a hotter nosed dog to coin hunt rather than cold nose?

Yeah there is plenty of slow ones and theres fast ones theres slow blueticks and there is fast blue ticks but like i said it all depends on the dog and the seller one man could have a bluetick for 300 and another man could have the same blood in another dog and sell it cheaper

I would want a cold nose to coon hunt but that's just me I like listen to a dog work a cold track
