I built the deck for theses kennels in about 3 hours with the help of my mom and dad! I have 4 hurricane pre fab kennels (10x10) sittin on a 10x40 deck mad out of treated 1x6 and the stilts are 4x6. I have automatic waters and no tip feed bowls and a brood gyp welping house/puppy house with a heat lamp in it. its the one on the far right. and the others have barrel! this was a huge upgrade for me!  Total cost around $1500 for all three kennels! $500 in wood and $1000 in kennels. i plan to put tin on the top and rig lights up later on.

Great job Lauren. When you get ready to put a roof on it just strap some 4 x 4's to the kennels using plumbing strapping then lay the tin across the 4 x 4's.

When you do the roof make it free standing. The weight of the tin and wood will make the kennel panels tweak and bend over time.

I could hardly walk for a few hours! but i sure love them! I can keep more!

Well aren't you fancy? I figured you had to use air to get it done that fast unless your dad was Superman.

They look good.

looks good. i had a roof on a 10x10 kennel from tsc and used 6 10' 2x4 laying on the 2" side and spread evenly and screwed another short 2x4 connecting 2 of the 2x4s for the 3 sets and then screwed the tin down. it was steardy enuf for me to walk on the roof and i weighed 230 at that time. i didnt have an issue with the weight tweaking and bending the panels. the whole roof weighed around 75-100lbs. i wouldnt worry bout tweaking and bending the panels

This is a light duty kennel that I strapped some 2 x 2's across the top with plumbing strapping and then attached sheets of tin. Works great and it didn't weaken the panels. This is a 6 x 10 kennel. I would use 2 x 4's  for a 10 x 10 light duty kennel. For heavy duty 10 x 10
kennels I would and have used 4 x 4's.
