Title: Rickets? Post by: Yelladogwreckincrew on January 01, 2013, 10:21:24 pm Had a couple of pups come down with rickets. From what I understand it is a vitamin D deficiency so we gave them cod liver. Any other ideas on what to do about it?

Dog straightened up and you can't tell he ever had it now. Expose them to more sunlight too. Not sure on dogs but I know we get Vit. D from sunlight.

our Dr's always used to advise anyone who had pups come down with that aside from the supplements, to run them through the deep sand....it'll help with the straightenin out of their legs....
