Title: No ammo Post by: CentralTex 254 on January 20, 2013, 09:37:51 am I posted a few days ago that ammunition is gettin hard to find. I can't find major caliber sizes anywhere. Police and sheriff officers are even running out. they can't even train their recruits with firearms according to the news. I have my own thoughts on this subject of ammo shortage but I'll keep ylthat paranoid thoughts to my self lol. I'd like to hear what everybody else thinks though
Title: Re: No ammo Post by: JRyanS on January 20, 2013, 09:42:27 am It will die down. I personally am not supporting my local gun stores right now due to price gouging. It'll all come back down. We went through the same thing about 10 years ago.
Title: Re: No ammo Post by: S_J_KENNELS on January 20, 2013, 10:27:58 am I know my department had hell finding enough ammo to qualify us. I am having a hard time getting ammo through the LEO stores as well.

Couldn't believe it.
My department qualified about a month in a half before all this and we were planning on qualifiing with rifles this month but thats out of the question now. How much ovr priced was that blackout compared to normal price? It was a M&P. I talked to my gun smith and showed him the ad and he thought maybe $1700. I dont know, I just think just because everyone is scared doesnt change the quality of the product. I'm happy with my RRA. Maybe I just need to stay out of it. Title: Re: No ammo Post by: BRK on January 20, 2013, 07:06:53 pm I got ammo stored but went to a tactical store where they had the last M&P 15 in .223 they were asking 6000.00 for it, I bought mine 2 yrs ago for 1000.00 and recently bought a 300 AAC Blackout for the same price right before all this crap started. Everyone that has some is trying to get way more then they should but supply and demand.

Title: Re: No ammo Post by: Lance on January 21, 2013, 12:59:23 am I built my AR 15 in November for $ 595.00. That's without optics. The assault weapons ban won't pass. Wait a couple months and the guns and ammo will be in stock and affordable again.
Title: Re: No ammo Post by: buddylee on January 21, 2013, 06:21:47 am When the prices go down, stock up on everything because this will happen again.

There wa someone on here selling a Vulcan v18 for 2000 " due to shortage on assault weapons" or whatever looked it up and the same gun bar and new was 500 with very very very bad reviews. Used teu well for 300. Just goes to show what kind of price gouging people are doing and always do some research before buying. Title: Re: No ammo Post by: charles on January 21, 2013, 07:50:19 pm Rite after this supposed shooting happened i called the store where lance bought his lower receiver n the guy said they were selling stripped lowers for 300 n something the guy told me that lowers were selling for 500+ n at 300, he would be doing me a favor. I told him i hav enough weapons n he could keep his lower n his favor. This double, triple n even quadruple price gouging aint about price n demand, just about GREED!!!!!
I hope these gouging individuals n stores can eat them. Iv heard they r good with gravy, but a lil hard on the teeth Title: Re: No ammo Post by: kerreydw on January 21, 2013, 09:20:22 pm shortage my a-- these comanys can produce no telling how many rounds a minute.its called greed plaine and simple

Wait a couple months and the guns and ammo will be in stock and affordable again. I hope so buddy, really wanna get me one but at that kinda price you paid.I ordered a complete AR 15 parts kit from akpartskits.com for $430 and a stripped lower reciever $150 and 30 round magazine $10 from Independence Fire Arms. Put it together in about 45 minutes. Everything functioned great but the trigger pull sucked. I took the trigger assembly out and took a little off with a fine file and polished it with sand paper and now the trigger pull is really nice. It functions and shoots as tight or tighter groups than all of the ones that my friends have and they paid twice as much or more for theirs from gun dealers and that was before all the price gouging. |
