Title: Cooper STT tires
Post by: mod93dirt on January 22, 2013, 06:22:28 pm
Anyone out there run Cooper STT's? Looking for some new tires for my 00 f350 and I think I decided on the coopers. I also like the toyo mt's, but the coopers are considerably less. Checked reviews all over the web, with mixed results. But that seemed the case with pretty much every tire I looked at. Most of my driving is pavement, with the hunting weekends hitting the gravel roads and mud.  Not really concerned about road noise, I just want a good looking aggressive tire that will hold up good.

I had the STT's on a f350 I drove all over Houston for about 8 months straight and held up pretty good

bor none, they are the best tires I have ever owned. I am on my second set, first were on a 1/2 ton and I got over 50k on them, I currently have a set of 37x12.5x17's on my 1 ton dodge dually and they have over 20k and still look brand new. the Psenciks have them on their dodge dually as well and Mr. james is, or at least was, equally as impressed with them as I am, last I talked to him about em.

JUNK. i bought a set n put them on a 2500 dodge diesel and got 15,000 miles out of them and i rotated every 5,000 miles. they were load range E's. i also had the same bad luck with bf goodrich at's. i switched to toyo mt's and got 60,000 miles. it coulda been just a bad set from each manufacture, but got great from the toyo's.

I have had three sets you can get 50 out of them pretty easy the only thing I didn't like is they seemed like they picked up a lot more rocks than all the other mud grips I have run but a all around good tire

Yep. We have had several sets on our dodge 3500 and we have had great luck with them.

looks like the cooper stt's are some mud slingers...are they quiet going down the hi way???

I also looked up the toyo mts and they look like they won't sling as much mud as the cooper stt but I like quiet... :)

not trying to steal the thread her but might as well look at other options...

what is the best all around mud tire when we are talking about price, mileage, a quiet smooth ride, and performance in the mud???

Heck yea them toyos will sling the mud n they dont roar as loud goin down the hwy as the coopers do, nor do they sling the mud but the coopers hav a wider seperation bewteen lugs which aids in road noise. Iv ran both n for mud, cooper, for hwy n mud use, toyos.

The way you drive you can't hear much of anything over the roar of that diesel with your foot on the floor lol

My next set of tires will be the Interco (Super Swampers) SS-M16. Everybody that I talked to has got over 40k on them and would buy another set.

Rueben, I have had most of them since i go thru trucks like my draws!  Cooper STT was a good tire, i liked the mud grappler allot but the mileage is terrible specially for the price you pay.  Ive had alllot of off brand mud tires nothing i liked or worth speaking of.  I hunt allot and drive allot offroad as well as highway.  Overrall tire is a Maxxis Buck Shot to me, ive had one tons down to half tons and they have performed very good for me on and off road.  ABout 40,000 is a good number for them and i get 35's in a 17in for $1000.  Its hard to beat that

There ok, just don't like the off-road performance out of them compaired to others.

STT= JUNK Had 2 sets neither ones held up. Then went to the ST and they lasted way longer and in my opinion were better in the mud. My last set of ST's I had problems keeping them balanced. So now i went to Pro Comp Extreme AT's and so far I like them, the performance in the mud and wear. I dont have a whole lot of miles on them but a buddy of mine has ran them for years with real good luck so I gave them a shot.

X2 I have ran 3 consecutive sets. Averaged 40k miles. Tried to improve went to BFG's and got louder and are wearing out faster. Gonna go back to the buckshots for sure!

thanks...and 35's on a 17 inch rim for 1000 dollars sounds like a bargain too...
