Title: Research - Strike and Bay with Lead in
Post by: KevinN on February 05, 2013, 09:27:52 am
Chime in if this is your style.

1. What's the average distance a hog travels before you get him caught?

2. How far out do you release your CD?

3. Why did you choose this style?

It's hard to put a average on the distance covered by the hogs from strike to catch, your gonna have some exceptions, but I would say its probably inside 1000 years for me. Especially right now...pups and all...if the hog gets out past 1000 yards it usually gets away. I expect that to change but that's my answer for now.

I like to release my CD as close as possible...inside of 100 yards for sure, I'd prefer 40 or so.

I was "brought up" in this style. I really love seeing the dogs work a hog. This style gives me an opportunity to make that happen.

This really fits me to a T for the most part. I will generally sent my CD in around a 100 yards or so. But i just started using a CD. My curs generally catch a hog within reason.
