Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: chads7376 on February 14, 2013, 09:09:09 am I run all gyps. I have two males on my yard and its two too many but oh well. I don't have to deal with the pissin matches and fighting all the time. Sure they come in heat but I just leave that one at home and run one that isn't.
Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: toyotatodd on February 14, 2013, 09:15:12 am I run all females. I am considering adding a male after this next breeding. I think its alot less hassle in the kennels and yard, but they do get moody and want to fight some when they are in. Also like rdjustham said, when they are in heat running them around males can be a problem.
Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: rdjustham on February 14, 2013, 09:55:17 am Dont get me wrong. With the exeption of a few ive had, i prefer females. Its just a pain when guys you hunt with run all males, and like women they are all usually in around the same time. For that reason alone i like a split pack.

Guy the other night couldent believe I left my 2 dogs right next to each other with no fights. I am head of my pack and they know it. Fe.ales are a pain in the rear for me but have several. Heck think my females pee more thany males do or maybe I kust dont pay attention.

Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: bob on February 14, 2013, 08:48:50 pm I run all females on my bay dogs , I have four and rotate them hunting most of the time , I tried a male that was line bred from the same blood line but all he had on his mind was the girls , I gave him away at 2 , I ran beagles years ago and liked the females and now still have females , I have two male cds
And they are usually on a lead ,I personally think that a female isn't as hard headed and learns faster and not to bash males because there is just as good males as females just a mans preference , my last pup is now three ,bmc female , I told her that this was the year for the team or the cut , I guess she was listening because she's been really hunting good and I guess a little slow to mature from what I read on the web but sure glad I stuck it out with her Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Every pack animal on earth does it and once they figure out the pecking order, most of the time there is a lot of less fighting. I have the sweetest cd u could ever find but the other day my brothers ybmc thought he was gunna jump on him in the dog box (I guess to try and show him up) but it didn't work out in his favor at all. By the time I stopped the truck and opened the dog box door my brothers dogs head was inside my APBTs mouth. My cd was jus holding him down with his front legs and holding the other dogs head down with his mouth lol. I quickly called him off with a firm voice and he slowly came to me while watching his back. (Love a catch dog that will listen even when he wants to do the exact opposite). Tempers will flare in any breed and any sex. Lots of variables that play in a pack. They get in arguement a jus like us. Good luck with the all female pack bud! Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: Demondoggers on February 15, 2013, 01:16:19 pm The only time my makes have fought is if there is a gyp. My only gyp is a CD.
Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: buddylee on February 15, 2013, 04:30:16 pm My used to have beagles. He ran an all female pack because he said that while the male dogs were trying to see who could pee the highest the females were finding rabbits.
Title: Re: How many do it this way ? Post by: Reuben on February 15, 2013, 07:31:02 pm I have had some good females with as much grit as the males...but I prefer males because they are usually stronger and can control a hog better...but I can not stand a male that is always worrying about pecking order when he should be out hunting...and a male humping another male makes me see red... ;D I don't interfer with other folks dogs but mine will get there butt kicked for acting that way...a good hunting dog should only have hunting on his mind in the woods...and minding his own business around the truck or wheeler...but a female in heat...I excuse his bahavior... ;) folks should know better not to take females in heat to the woods where males will be around...
