Title: Garmin antennas Post by: Caseydejohn on March 10, 2013, 10:15:31 pm Is there any where to buy just the metal peice that screws onto the handle on the portable long range antennas? I've broke several of them and can't find any where to just buy the metal part.

This is the best antenna I've used for the long range... Longer antenna, heavy duty, and better range... Title: Re: Garmin antennas Post by: matthewrbarnard on March 11, 2013, 02:23:58 pm Do you just tell the people at Radio Shack you are wanting a longer ranged antenna for your garmin and they make it?
Title: Re: Garmin antennas Post by: Purebreedcolt on March 11, 2013, 02:33:08 pm I was lucky and got a smart guy that knew radios he didnt know garmins but kneew what ro do to make it work. It takes a special conector I do t remember what it is called but then we put a flex wire to a expandable antenna fits in my bag and works well if they get way out I got a magnetic mount and a 4 foot antenna and it picks up way out there

I wonder if radio shack can rig up a way to connect a 102" whip to a garmin? Title: Re: Garmin antennas Post by: Bawl Mouth on March 11, 2013, 06:55:36 pm Lion country supply makes a damn good one
Title: Re: Garmin antennas Post by: Shotgun wg on March 12, 2013, 09:36:54 pm I don't see why they can't. All it should take is adapting the coax. A 102 whip is a full wave length antenna if I remember correctly. But I could be wrong.
