just direct him to the deer studies done in alabama and south carolina studies done with radio collered deer and coon hunters hunting thru them . but even with scientific written in black and white proof you will still never convence a deer hunter that they are wrong  .

We lease our place out to deer hunters. They used to tell ME they didn't want me hunting my OWN place. I told them wat I thought about that and they could deal with it I kept hunting it. Finally talked ind into goin with me now they all wanna go every time they come.

Here's the buck I killed this year off my place. Run dogs on it when there are hogs on it just like any other place. This is a cull buck but he came in at the wrong time and hung around to long after I rattled

          The Journal of Wildlife Management

 Abstract:
Studies were conducted on three separate areas-Auburn, Alabama; Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; and Savannah River Plant, South Carolina-to determine the responses of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) to chasing by hunting dogs (Canis familiaris). Deer chosen for harassment were animals that had been studied by telemetry until normal behavior, movement patterns, and ranges were delineated. In every chase the deer escaped the hounds, and all deer remained in good physical condition throughout the study. Behavior that resulted in escape was classified into five categories: holding, distance running, circuitous zigzag running, separating from a group, and using escape habitat. Chases averaged 33 minutes in duration and 2.4 miles in distance with maximums of 155 minutes and 13.4 miles recorded. Deer in high populations were more difficult to chase for extended periods than those in low populations. Although the deer did not require water for escape, they usually selected swamps or other bodies of water when these were available. The deer could readily be chased out of their home ranges, but usually they returned in 1 day or sooner

and this was a studie done a long time ago using deer hounds to actually run the deer , not hog or coon hounds that are broke from running deer

Dogs don't bother a deer unless its the one they chasing. Even then they ain't gonna do nothing but run a circle like a rabbit. Circle is just bigger. A man could talk till u blue in the face and show them with their own eyes and they still won't believe.

Like I posted on that thread, I worry more about the people then the dogs. Four wheelers and a group of humans scare off more deer then a pack of dogs. I stop hunting most places two weeks to a month from bow season. If I was paying 2-4k a gun I damn sure dont want someone all over my place right before deer season started.

I run dogs on our lease during hog season and killed 2 deer opening day and one the next morning so I guess that settles that. But you cannot make some people believe that. I try every year to find more leases to let us hunt during the off season but all they want to do is complain about the hogs and do nothing about them!!! That is in Louisiana. I have a lease in brady but I don't run my hog dogs there because it is only 1200 acres and afraid they will get on next lease and I wont be able to go get them it sucks but just have to live with it!!

Jw corbett here in Loxahatchee has plenty of hogs & deer. People run dogs every year during hunting season. During the off season we camp / mud / party out there.

Swamp, you can ask anyone that knows me well and they will tell you the dog hunting stops when deer season is here.  I'm obsessed thats for sure.  I wouldn't run dogs on my place unless it helped and ive been doing it for years, since i started our deer have improved not speaking in quality but quanity for sure.  They fill more comfortable coming in to feed without those damn hogs around.  I have plenty of pictures but don't have access to upload them.  Monty has seen several bucks ive killed that are just considered culls on our ranch but trophys to most.  Lionboarhunter also i believe does trophy hunts on low fence for whitetail and many more but also runs dogs hard...

Now I'm speaking of good dogs though!! ;)  Bumping a deer is one thing but running a deer is another!!  I wouldn't tolerate running one on my place but hunting hogs doesn't hurt, if anything it helps!!

These are just a couple of the deer that are on our place. I had a hard time explaining to the ranch owners that hog dogs won't mess with deer. I finally ended up takin them huntin and they saw first hand that the dogs never even look at a deer.

These are all off my deer lease. I make it a point to run the hogs out before deer season, makes my deer hunting alot easier being able to keep hand corn down
