Decided to build me some new kennels with the wife on me about something a little easier on the eyes. I sketched them up and so far I have been able to keep it coming as planned. I decided to go with a pea gravel floor instead of concrete for a few reasons but the main one is we will be selling this property in about 5 years.

Anyway here is my sketch. I am building the first 7 now and then the other 7 when I get some more time again.
They are 10x10 kennels with a walk way between them

 them is NICE!!!! how much will u have in just the current 7 kennels, lumber, tin, wire and gravel?

Should be around $2600. I used treated on everything except the 2x's directly under the tin.

    just one suggestion if not too late . I really prefer the kennel doors to open  [ in ] since all my dogs usually meet me at the gate  . I know it makes it easier on me to enter when needed .

good call, mine like to push on the gates at feed time, if they open in they cant push them open

Yup! I run a piece of fence wire across the bottom of all the gates so they can't push them open and they only open in. So if a dog is on the gate they get pushed back when I open it. They learn to stay back as I come in real fast. If I was building kennels I would put something all the way around the door so when pushed on they can't twist the door. I am going to have to build my own kennels mostly because the doors never hold up. I was going to just add hog panels to the bottom of my kennels but the doors are another weak place.

Looks good to me man.  My kennel doors open out and I dont ever have problems with dogs trying to come out.  My dogs have learned that they dont like being sprayed with water and that is what happens when they rush the gate.

If you use hog pannels for the doors and run a 2 x 4 all the way around the edge yu should not have a problem with door twisting.  Take some plywood and cut in in a 90 degree angle, place it in the four corners of the gate over the 2 x 4 joints and you will not have any twist.

Thanks for the input guys. My gates will be metal so that will eliminate the twisting. I am using the same gate concept thats on my current kennels. The doors will open in or out. I do not have a problem with dogs trying to push out thru me. They have learned to stay put unless I call em out.

Hopefully I will get some time this week to put the tin on and maybe more.

Pens look really good though I have really wanted to use pea gravel on my next ones sure going to be nice keep us updated

It is leaning. I think the pic makes it look worse than it is. I have a guy coming to remove a few trees including this one and grind the stumps.
