Vest doesn't fit right. It only takes a few hunts and the dog will be rubbed so raw it will take a long time to heal.

It doesn't fit right if it rubs his front legs raw. Wash it several times and it might limber up but doesn't sound right.

Try mole skin. The same stuff folks use for covering blisters or preventing blisters on the feet. I used nylon stocking in basic for the 13-25 mile ruck marches, but in sure there aint nylons for dogs  ;D but the mole skin works for a better word, a lengthy temp patch.

My vest from ugly dog was doing it, seems to have softened up and the dog built up a tolerance for it too.  Been runnin her the past month straight in it and you cant even tell.  First month I would put it on her and let it heal in a week or so.  Now you can't tell after she gets done hunting that she even had it on.  I do soak mine in a bucket with laundry detergent about once a month or so just to keep the smell down on em.  Not sure if that has helped soften the material around the leg holes or not.
