EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

Well the weather has been awesome here lately so I got the urge to go hit the pond at my inlaws place. And of course, my 2 and a half year old boy Wylee had to come along. I hadn't fished this pond since last spring. And it got about 4 ft low in the summer, but it overflowed in one night of heavy rain about three weeks ago, so I was anxious to see how the fish held up.  So I rigged him up a worm and a bobber, and we hooked up on the first cast! I had showed him how to use the reel before we started, but when I told him to reel it in, he just grabbed the line with his hands and took off running to land the fish, lol. Hey, whatever works. He was pretty excited, but not as much as i was. he touched the fish and slung it around on the line some before we turned it back. Thank goodness we hooked up fast, because his attention span aint real long and he quickly turned to more exciting things, like throwing sticks in the water.  It was a cool day for sure!

After momma took him in the house, daddy got to do some fishing on his own, and I managed to land the biggest bass I have caught out of this pond in the 4 yrs I have fished it. I was pretty pumped about this as well.
