Title: Yamaha Rhino question? Post by: slimhogdog on May 21, 2013, 03:00:14 pm Need a little help fellas, both the inner boots on my CV joint going into the rear end have busted. Is it worth it for me to try and replace these myself or should i just take it in? Any experience as to what this usually should cost at a ATV shop?

Post by: mtarrant23 on May 21, 2013, 05:43:17 pm Man I just had two boots replaced on my prowler and I was like you didn't want to mess with it so I pulled the axles out and took just the axles to the shop boots cost 14 dollars apiece but I was charged 1.7 hours of labor @ 80 dollars an hour done bill cost right at 180 so I would say try to find someone to help or get on you tube and figure it out it can't be hard dont be lazy like I did and that was for just two boots

It's easier to replace the whole axle than a boot.. ;D Title: Re: Yamaha Rhino question? Post by: mtarrant23 on May 21, 2013, 06:02:35 pm Lol I hear ya wilbanks
Title: Re: Yamaha Rhino question? Post by: LoftinCattleCo on May 21, 2013, 06:26:35 pm Depends on who you bring it to.. A dealer is pretty high but mom an pop shop will be a lot cheaper.... I was figuring $150-$200 labor and boots

I was figuring $150-$200 labor and boots I just can't see paying that much just for boots... My axle was for a grizzly but I can't see a rhino being too much more... I paid $119 for an ENTIRE axle... You pay $150 for boots and could tear it again the first trip out... But that's just me and my poor, lazy self... ;) Title: Re: Yamaha Rhino question? Post by: mtarrant23 on May 21, 2013, 06:54:30 pm I know the cheapest on for mine was 200 and needed one boot on both of my front axles so I come out cheaper but could have done myself for 30 bucks
