ok went out friday night dogs bayed half a mile out get the pigs cought, headn back to cool the dogs down and my buddies bird dog rolls out to 600 and then 675 in like 3 seconds and we never pick her back up, bad storm is blowing in so we look and look in the storm cant finde her, well get ahold of the farmer were huntn for and he gives me a number of hew might have her, call em and the lady said she found her sat night but shes not really wanting togive her back said shes got a vet appointment to get her fixed and already spent 70 dollars on her and said she gets along with her dogs great so not sure that she wants to give her up, she had 4 collars on her tracking system (dc30) shock system (trytronic) and cut collar and regular id collar, shes being a real crazy person what should i do to get her back???? o ya she picked the dog up in leonard tx and took her to arlington tx 2hrs away from us

Man...hate to say it but some bunny huggers are just not right. I wouldn't try to negotiate. Just go straight to the law.

I'd call the law to accompany you when y'all go to this lady's door to pick up your dog so that there are no issues. Take any and all proof ya got like photos, etc, not that you should need it since your name plate and gear was on the dog. Hopefully she gives all that back to you guys to or she'd be owing YOU money. I don't know how it works over there but over here if you find someones dog, you put forth effort to find or contact the owner, ESPECIALLY if it has an ID plate on, or you'll be in trouble. Far as I'm concerned you don't owe her squat towards whatever she CHOSE to spend on a knowingly owned dog that she 'found.'

   dog was id'd and full of equipment I would get with the law asap and file theft charges on her  for the dog and equipment .  no mercy !!!

She has no legal right to keep your property from you. She should have notified you or local authorities when she found it. I would go get my dog asap. And she wouldnt get a dime from me.

thanks yall for the replys, and idk where she came up with the coverd in tick thing, im sure she had a couple on her due to hunting in high grass but we spend a couple hundred dollars ever month on flea and tick meds and wormer, so im sure she found one r 2 and thats it, she was saying she house trained her, iwas like she  was already house broke idk whats wrong with people these days, city and country people r 2 diffrent breeds for sure for the most of em

I agree I would get the law involved and go get her back. Heck I would walk up grab Her and leave. I also agree with Mrs Louisiana follow the code and make every reasonable effort to contact original owner. Every collar I own including yard dogs have my name tag on it. There is no excuse for Her actions. As far as I am concerned she is stealing if the dog doesn't belong to Her.

Just thought about it for a bit, and you know what else, if this crazy woman does take her to the vet and get her spayed she is liable for all the future litters that dog would have produced. At approximate value of 2000 dollars  per litter, with an estimate 5 litters in this bitches life, your looking at a $10,000 lawsuit. This might not be such a bad deal for y'all.  ;)

She has the dog in Arlington ? I live 5 min from there ,  crazy people , how did you figure out she had the dog ? I would forsure call the police in Arlington an get them to meet me at her house

U should try to get the vets number and tell them that she has a stolen dog that she is trying to spayed that doesnt belong to her.

long story short i think she leases a weekend house from the farmer were hunting for and he gave us the number it came out on the road r sumthn hew knows r trucks were rite at the road she might of been seting in the back of our truck she was towards the truck when she cut out, idk this lady is just full of it gets my blood going thats for sure

Where I live you if you find a dog you must bring it to the shelter and there's a 5 day waiting period. If the owner claims the dog within that time tough luck. If the owner does not claim the dog you can have it, or it goes up for adoption. Or you can just not call the shelter and keep it lol

the dog was in the country healthy as can be 4 collars on it the dog more thank likely isnt lost just doing its job leave it alone if u come by and see it the nextday i can see picking it up and calling a couple local people not taken it 2 countys over and 2hrs away from where u picked it up at

I'm was referring to a dog with no collar. Or a dog with a collar with no tags. I obviously wouldn't suggest stealing someone's dog.

ok this is how it went, my buddy clinton tells me he has found our dog and im like great i ask where is she he says in arlington the i say wtf and he tells me the lady is bonkers. so i ask him to give me her number seconds after getting her number i call her she answers and i ask who am i speaking with she gives me her first and last name so now i can identifye this lady, so i ask her if she has my dog and equipment she says yes i do but im not giving the dog back i think to myself ( the f you aint ) so i tell her the value of the dog and euipment and tell it is a felony now that she wont return my property she quickly changes her attitude. then go's on and on of how my dog maddie was covered in ticks and how she bought $70 of supplys for her and how she has become attached to the dog blah,blah,blah now she wants the $70 she has spent on her back so i tell her ok fine lets meet for the exchange. so i arrive at the cabelas in allen 45mins early and text her telling her im here and she tells me she aint coming cause of the storm. so i remind her of the charges that will be pressed and since i googled her phone # that i will bring the police straight to her door so of course she says im on my way she shows up with up with my dog and gear my dog jumps too me and she says thats she wants the money i asked her where is the supplys you bought for her as i load my dog and gear up she says she didnt bring it so i say ha im not paying you and her man friend says yes your going to pay and gets all squared up i advised him to think about his physical health so he stood down and now she is wanting her money and doesnt understand why she aint getting it i  told her im not buying back my property that you took and told her it would be best if she quit picking up dogs in the country cause i know some ole boys that aint near as nice as i am. but yes thank you clinton for finding maddie the lady thought she had a free dog but she didnt know there was a " bloodhound" on her ace

i would have took atleast one buddy with me and whooped both their asses, i know its not right to hit a women but its not right to steal a dog either and thats what them people did, as soon as i had my dog back in the box it would of been game on. people just dont care anymore they dont live by the old saying whats mine is mine whats yours is yours or if it aint yours dont mess with it. id just like to know what was them people thinking telling you they wasnt giving your dog back but it sounds like you handled it good, its no doubt our country is going downhill

So glad you got your dog and equipment back. That's a dang shame. People that are down right honest and men/women of their word are dang near extinct nowadays!! I wouldn't hunt around there if she's there anymore....

for future reference. always call the police and make a report. I know it goes against the grain for someone raised to be a god fearing sovereign man of the usa but we don't live in that world where you can just handle stuff like that yourself. It's always best to have a police report on file. It makes a huge difference if it goes to court someway.I've been burned several times in the past. I just hate to see it happen again. They could now say your meeting went however they want. They could cause you some serious trouble if they were crazy and vindictive enough. Glad you got your dog back though. Nuts are every where.
