Title: Construction Mats
Post by: matt_aggie04 on June 05, 2013, 09:38:24 pm
Does anyone on here in the oilfield business have a good connection to get used construction mats?  Looking for used three layer 8'x16' type mats.

Also if anyone has an idea on large rough cut lumber I'd be interested in that also to get an idea on building my own variation of one.

Thanks in advance for any infor out there!

These guys will have what you need. I don't know them personally, but have close contacts that do.

Or you can call this guy, he's a neighbor of mine, and will have the rough lumber you need to make your own. Heck, he can probably make it for you, to your specs.

American Mat and Timber off long Dr has what I need and they are by far the cheapest. A new mat is about $460-$475. Most used mats are $250-$325 but Anerican has piles of them for $100 each. The other issue is weight and freight. I need 8 of them but that means an 18 wheeler load and that runs about $650 delivered. So for about $1500 I can have them to my place.  I need to be able to go look at these at Anerican and pick out the enter ones and they will load em and send em.....Just gotta find $1500

That fancy new flatbed you bought ought to be plenty heavy enough to haul some matting.
