Only 49 more states to go! Hooray for Florida !

I-95 and I-75 will be jammed for the next month or so with druggies and deadbeats heading North out of Florida , because this is the first state in the union to require drug testing to receive welfare!

Hooray for Florida ! In signing the new law, Republican Gov. Rick Scott said, "If Floridians want welfare, they better make sure they are drug-free."

Applicants must pay for the drug test, but are reimbursed if they test drug-free. Applicants who test positive for illicit substances, won't be eligible for the funds for a year, or until they undergo treatment. Those who fail a second time will be banned from receiving funds for three years!

Naturally, a few people are crying this is unconstitutional.
How is this unconstitutional? It's a legal requirement that every person applying for a job has to pass drug tests in order to get the job, why not those who receive welfare?

Let's get welfare back to the ones who need it, not to those who won't get a job.

A. Few states passed bills but nothing has came of it yet. I hope it does.
  No law says you have to pass a drug test to be hired.private companies require you to.

its about time...I have been casting those seeds since drug testing for employment started...

Dodge,  I would love to see this. The problem i see with it though, is I doubt our pill mill owning worthless a$$ governor would sign it in.  Plus there or more people hooked on illegal pills than there were people hooked on crack in the 80s.  So that being said I doubt having a legal narcotic in your system would keep you from collecting.  I cant wait to vote scott out!!!!

i could be wrong so dont get upset yet.  But our governor has been so busy taking money away from cops, firefighters, paramedics and teachers i would be shocked if he foudn the tie to do something good for this state!

He11 justin, we need to get perry to sign a law saying its legal to shoot any druged out welfare recipienet fleeing their state n crossin our state line to continue their freeloading.

  I know perry is working on the drug test for un-employment bebefits and it should if it hasn't already be passed . but they were held up on the welfare testing for some reason . the reason behind the unemployment was how are you going to be hired and get off unemployment while taking or smoking dope ? when most company's these days drug screen before hiring  . and it is a sound theory in my opinion .

   lol  I know that's right   BUT  if you aren't working and are actually looking for a job and not just riding out the benefits till they are gone . it's time to clean out your system for a while .  they started drug testing a company I worked for and we lost over 70 % of our seasoned hands from the top all the way to the bottom . if you are on unemployment and are still using you are buying dope with money needed else  where in my opinion . if you can't stand the real world just get drunk at night or all day in some cases  lol .

yes I do agree. straighten your stuff out at least for a little while. however short of some hard drugs I think I'll alcoholll a lot worse off. how many deaths a year for drunk drivers.stay safe guys

It is here in texas just not in effect yet wife works for the food stamp office and said she aint taking no ones pee grose lol.  It will be a pain but good idea

Now if we can just get the Indiana General Assembly to do this! I'd say get Congress to do it but they seem more focused on pissing on the Constitution than getting anything done.
