Title: Re: Garmin DC 40 Post by: Rocking Y on June 24, 2013, 09:24:24 am I checked the antenna and it wasn't broke and I cleaned like you said but it happens almost every time my dog gets close to 900 yards. My system is updated too and it happens with more than one collar but its one that's sure fire every time. I bought some aftermarket antennas and they still didn't solve it

Title: Re: Garmin DC 40 Post by: hillbilly on June 24, 2013, 04:10:05 pm 900 yards pretty good for a dc 40 with regular antennas
Title: Re: Re: Re: Garmin DC 40 Post by: AnotherRunner on June 24, 2013, 08:40:35 pm 900 yards pretty good for a dc 40 with regular antennas that's what I was thinking. Are your other collars loosing at that far? Depends on what terrain. I known you said antenna wasn't broke but if you don't take the cover off to look it could be broke up inside there.Title: Re: Garmin DC 40 Post by: Rocking Y on June 25, 2013, 11:54:15 pm I got 900 with the aftermarket antennas I bought. I take the cover off and keep it clean where it is. My other collars lose it before 500-600 sometimes. There was one rare occasion when we got it at 1 1/2 miles and it kept it but it was pretty open. We hunt piney woods type areas but there are fields scattered through out
