Title: Ava's first success.
Post by: UNDERDOG on July 22, 2013, 03:04:36 pm
Ava has been about q dozen times, always is a trooper, hangs in the whole time, no cry or fussin etc... but she had yet to get to go and catch one..

Sunday morn I got her up at 3:30, she rolled out with a smile ready to go.  We got to John boys and had coffee n doughnuts. Got the dogs all set up and turned loose bout 6. Dogs worked a track for a couple hours as the bottom fell out and they finally quit. We went to the back/north and Preacher man worked a cold track and bayed up a big group. Sent the bulldogs in and all hell broke loose, you could hear the hogs rally before we sent them. It broke before the bulldogs made it there, had a few good hogs all around us plus plenty of smaller ones... finally he bayed this little sow right by the road and the bulldogs grabbed her about 30 yds from the truck.  Kids were happy as heck and us grown folks were proud of them. Not a monster or trophy but it may as well been hogzilla as far as she was concerned.

Dodging rain.

Thanks all...that's my two favorite things ..my kids and my dogs.

Mr G. If you were closer I'd sure bug you for some of that sausage for her and I both!!

Kate, thanks ...she is my pride and joy (her little bro too) she sure loves being out with me and the dogs.

SNF, the vest you see is a old wet felt vest made by Jody Stone, they are hot and heavy when wet but work good.

They are if you subscribe to the "pure" concept...straight/pure AB's.

Jay, the one in the wet felt vest is one I bred fron Shiner X Annie,Bruja... the other is from Scott out of the bro sis breeding he did, Skeeter. No, the curs are both grand pups of ole Tweety. Niko got killed and Macy died having pups.
