Well I think I've done lost my mind. I'm goin to pick me up a ukc redbone pup next week. Just what I need another dog. But boy is she a good lookin pup. Her name is going to be robinsons June bug. Currently 8 weeks old. Sire is a retired bear / hog dog. Dam is a coon dog. Can't wait to get my hands on her. Far drive but should be worth it.

His gyp throws a few black & tans every now & then, said its from some old time bloodlines

I love the looks of a redbone. They are good looking dogs. The one I had was so gamey, the dog lived to hunt. Pretty pup. If my redbone would have been completely silent I would have never sold her.

I like a redbone. That one looks like she is mouthy. When u get tired of hearing her sing songs to them pigs just send her my way. She would fit right in with the rest of my red dogs.

I've always had good luck with redbones. Does anybody know anything about the black & tan from old bloodlines? I would like to know more about that. I think it's pretty cool.

Therapy won't help but catching hogs might :)

Pretty pup. Never seen a redbone throw a black and tan pup.

Just a theory but them black and tan pups showed up cause there is a black and tan hound in the woodpile
some where back in the bloodline. She sure is a pretty pup. She looks like the dominant/outgoing pup of the
litter. What you plan on using her for?    Oh, and that's a cool name.

I was wanting to name her mercy, but as soon as I saw her I said that's a June bug looking dog lol. I'm hoping she will turn out to be a jam up trail dog. My hopes are to pen her & bambino (dogo) together. I want them to have a strong bond. (Not to breed) I want to be able to drop them together & get the job done

Ive only hunted/kept 1 hound prior to the plott pup I have now......something about a long eared hound pup just makes me smile, hope you take a likin to her the way that I have to mine and good luck with her, she's a pretty little thing.

   yep back in the day there were a bunch of black and red dogs mostly saddle backs but some a little more on the black side  .  the red bone like all our other hounds were a blend of several different strains . they actually show up quite often but they have become the  buckskin [ as in plotts  ] of the red bone breed . the purist will seldom admit that their high dollar pure blooded red bone hounds threw one or two in a litter   lol . good looking hound dog  [ for a red bone  lol ] 

Good lookin pup ma'am.  I have an ol redbone bitch she is very dark red unlike these lighter colored ones i've been seeing lately. Just different bloodlines i reckon, anybody else have these darker redbones ?

Hope she turns out to make you a good one dodgegirl, and I'd say there's a good chance she will. You'll hear all sorts of joking about hounds but they can and will still get the job done. I've had some Redbones way back when I coon hunted.....mighty good dogs too. One of my good hog hunting buddies has had some stem-winder redbones over the years. They were mouthy for sure but a hog had better get in gear the second that he heard them open the first time, because they would sure run him down and catch him if given half a chance. Good luck with her and keep us posted....she's a dang good lookin' little dog for sure.

What made u change ur mind on which pup. This ones a fat Lil rascal. Lol. Good lookin pup also tho.

He sent me more pics of the pups, and I really liked the way the pup always had eyes on the camera. I asked him to tell me about her and I liked what I heard. She's got a good mouth & she's independent.

Was just curiouse. U know sometimes a dog will just catch ur eye. Not always based on looks or anything in particular but just that something that makes u think that will make a dog.

I know exactly what you are talking about, sometimes you just see one and it immediately stands out. Hope you picked a good one dodge girl!

Since you bred the pups, what's the registries say about the Black and Tan puppy out the litter?

June Bugs daddies first hog all on his own. Just under a year old.

The registry will not register the balck and tan because it doesnt meet breed standards. It happens a lot but most breeders hide it. DNA proif positive redbone. Its like the Walkers throwing the blue highlighted ones.

Where do you you think that color comes from?

About 5 or 6 generations back. Dont know exactly where.

Hows that little girl doing?

She's doing great! I tell ya, she eats like a full grown dog, and boy I could carry on a full conversation with her lol. One thing I've noticed, she's always got her nose on the ground.
