Title: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: TChunter on July 26, 2013, 10:07:53 am Rescue Pup to go to good home (carrollton/plano)
Daisy is an interesting puppy with an interesting story. I was in the woods in central east Texas a few weeks ago when I heard a sizable animal behind some brush. When this animal emerged into the clearing, I saw an emaciated, bleeding puppy. She had a hog collar on and I was certain she had been lost in the woods for days if not weeks. She was certainly only a day or 2 from death. After some rigorous persuasion she came back to my parents home with me. I fed her and checked her information on her collar and called her owner. I was sure they would be overjoyed that they're long lost little girl had been found. They however didn't seem to be too excited. Which posed the question, 'How long has she been gone?' The man answered that she had been gone since that morning. She had been starved and beaten by her very own owner. I was disgusted, hung up the phone, and took her home with me a few hours away. She has been with me for 3 weeks. She has since then been deflee'd, gained weight, and her wounds have healed. I have nursed her back to health to the best of my ability but unfortunately do not have enough time and attention to give this little girl as I am a full time employed single mother. She needs someone who has time and love and attention to spare. I wish I could keep her but I don't think it would be fare to her. She is very sweet and very beautiful and has never shown to be aggressive; a little ball of love. She looks to be a mix of lab and maybe hound. She would be great for a family or a single man who wanted a loving companion. Please call me for more details if you are interested and I will text pictures. She needs a good home, She deserved it after what she has been through. this was on craigslist...anybody know whos dog this would have been!? these tree huggers are driving me crazy for sure.. I just LOOOOVE how every dog that is found that may be a hunting dog is automatically "beaten" and "abused." Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: BA-IV on July 26, 2013, 11:05:43 am Well to the in experienced its easy to look that way, and it sure as hell is real easy to seem that way when she actually called the number and the guy didn't give a crap about the dog. Way to make us look like we're responsible :-\
Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: TChunter on July 26, 2013, 11:12:14 am honestly im wondering if she even called the guy...I also love how she refers to it as a little puppy lol its really annoying for sure...and does make us look pretty bad!
Title: Re: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: Hogsnatchers on July 26, 2013, 12:08:20 pm sounds like the crazy ole coot that had a story wrote on here about her stealing a dog not to long ago.

Whole story sounds like complete BS to me.......who hunts with starving emaciated puppies first off, secondly from a pure monetary standpoint who is going to waste money putting a cut collar on a dog and then willingly leave it and not care........im calling BS on this story....... Its possible she found a puppy that someone dumped but a hogdog?!?!? I highly doubt it! Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: Texashog26 on July 26, 2013, 12:32:06 pm Sadly but surely guys, everyone isn't like "us". We as responsible hunters who actually care for the dogs that work for us so hard whenever asked aren't everywhere. It wouldn't surprise me the least little bit, the ad doesn't say she had a tracking collar, it only says a hog dog collar. I'm not defending her, but I am saying there is just as many guys doing it the wrong as there is doing it the right way. Im sure everyone on here has at some time come into contact with what you would call a sorry dogman, type that feeds sometimes and couldn't hold the handle on car door much less have the know how to handle dogs. Jmo for what its worth.

I highly doubt it! im with you...esp with how a collar was on it WITH name plates...someone who doesn't give a number 2 wouldn't have wasted money on a collar and name plates to just not care about the dog.. I sadly have to agree with you on that Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: catmando on July 26, 2013, 05:14:28 pm How does a sizeable animal turn into a little ball of love puppy. This lady needs her own csi reality show because she was able to deduct from one phone call that the dog was abused by its 'owner. If she saw my dogs shed probably turn me in for over feeding and causing obesity.

I dont particularly want mine to bite a stranger, i prefer em to tuck tail and run! If they cant catch em they can't take em! Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: djhogdogger on July 27, 2013, 09:17:49 am That craigslist ad makes me so mad. I didnt see the dog so "maybe" it was thin....who knows.... but how the heck does this woman KNOW that the dog was beat by its owner?!?!?
The whole post does sound like nothing more than peta propaganda. NO HUNTER IS GOING TO JUST LEAVE A DOG WEARING A CUT COLLAR WITH CONTACT INFO and then when called not go pick the dog up. I cant stand people like her. Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: justincorbell on July 27, 2013, 09:35:55 am That craigslist ad makes me so mad. Post by: halfbreed on July 27, 2013, 09:37:48 am well to the uneducated public , a dog that is conditioned to the peak of physical performance is considered abused and starved . these same people will most likely own a 40# chiwienie and consider themselves a better dog person than all others . but I have seen dogs turned out of the dog box that look like they have been lost in the woods for a month . but I think this add is just an attack on hog doggers in general by some one that knows what they are doing .
Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: firemedic on July 27, 2013, 02:43:16 pm She said that the dog was wearing a 'hog collar'....soooooo if it was a hog collar, what was it doing on a dog? I guess she might have meant 'hog dog' collar, but that's not what the ad said. A lot of the 'people' call every dog that's not too old to walk a 'puppy'. I've also found it funny that the first thing they ask about a dog or cat or monkey, for that matter,......is "Oh... what's it's name?" I have hunted with folks for months before I knew their dog's names.....it's just not a big deal seems like to me, but the 'bark eaters' just have to know what your 'puppy's' name is. Weird people they are, just plain weird!

Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: djhogdogger on July 27, 2013, 07:59:26 pm I just had a great idea.....
Someone needs to put and ad on craigslist with a picture of an over weight house dog and exclaim how you rescued the poor thing from a sad existance of laying on a couch all day with no exercise, eating junk food and table scraps, just wasting its poor miserable life away. You contacted the owner and they didnt seem too concerned about the probable heart problems they had created for this poor slob of a dog so you hung the phone up on them. Explain how since it came home with you it has been added to your hunting pack and is now loosing weight and very happy. Its now a ball of energy and very happy to be out of its tree hugging, latte sipping, dog artery clogging owners grip and needs a new hunting home. 8) TAKE THAT PETA!!!! Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: jagdtank on July 27, 2013, 11:46:20 pm If a dog was a piece of poo that had just enough sense to run outta range before I could get a bead on it. I'de still drive a hundred miles to pick up my collar. Any hunter I know would.Them kind of things are to hard to come by not to.
Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: firemedic on July 28, 2013, 01:39:55 pm That's funny Slim,....bet that hushes them up quick! I really like that idea you had Dinah,.....somebody needs to do that...really. Might cause quite a stir......you never know!
Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: chainrated on July 31, 2013, 10:14:17 am How did people come up with the idea that a fat lazy human is unhealthy but a fat lazy dog is healthy?
Oh yeah that's right, they elected a half white , half black guy president because he's black. Nevermind.. Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: tuskbuster on July 31, 2013, 05:26:14 pm CHAIN 4 PREZ he gets it
excellant post Matt Title: Re: ad i saw on craigslist... Post by: Hog_Hunter_57 on August 03, 2013, 11:14:31 pm Having no clue what the dog looked like i could not tell you any more than what the add says but it sounds like crap to me. But a few years ago we were hunting some public land and found a little ybm and she was poor now this was befor garmins as well. But my god she was in bad shape we called the owners no one was home he go back to us that night and well you gussed it he had lost her that morning not a couple days earler. So yes there are doggers out there that do not take good care of there dogs and they give us all bad names. But for the guys that think just because the dog is skinny its in shape no have you ever seen a super skinny race horse? Some thing to think about.
