Title: Cable Leads Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on July 26, 2013, 11:02:51 am Just wanted to give a good review to someone on here that's local to me that has started making cable leads. Picked one up from him yesterday. Placed an order for a custom length, and it was ready for pick up just a few short hours later. I'm pleased with the craftsmanship, and the price for me wanting a custom length was actually cheaper than what I pay for standard lengths w/shipping online. I believe his username here is xpressboat87 or something close to that. Anytime I get good customer service and a nice product I like to share with others so they can have the same. I tried to e-mail a pic from my cell to my desktop but it's not working for some reason. I'll get it up later if I can.

I have always made mine with 1/2" braided nylon, a ring, and one or two links of dog chain with a snap. I have came to like just using the two links and make double drop leads. Plus the rope can be used to tie something if need be.
Title: Re: Cable Leads Post by: charles on July 29, 2013, 06:10:16 pm Id like to c a dog chew through a cable lead like they can a rope. Dont matter how sturdy the build is with a rope, dogs can still chew through it.

Title: Re: Cable Leads Post by: xpressboat87 on July 30, 2013, 06:17:17 pm I've been having the tool. But pretty sure tractor supply sells them. And I got my clips from a website online
Title: Re: Cable Leads Post by: charles on July 30, 2013, 06:31:11 pm I cant seem to find ferrels or a swagging tool big enough to crimp my cables. I use 5/16 shielded stainless cables and the aluminum ferrels i hav found are not big enough unless i drill out the ferrels when i double the the cables. The swagging tool tsc sells wont crimp the bigger ferrels i need.
