Ive tried couple different ways of killin em but havent found nothig to stop em. I swear everyday they have another spot! What kind of ants are u dealin with?
Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: Easttex91 on September 30, 2013, 07:50:41 pm These are tiny little ants they don't bite but you get them by the millions. They eat regular ant poison like candy.
Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: KevinN on September 30, 2013, 07:50:48 pm Don't know where your located but most pest control companies have TOP CHOICE (made by Bayer) available. It's a fire ant treatment but works on ALL ants. It's pricey... Usually around $250-$300 (up to 2000 square feet usually) for a normal sized yard but guaranteed for A YEAR!!
For inside your home.....use a bulb duster and boric acid. Take your wall socket /switch covers off and dust inside them. Dust around your water entry points (where water pipes come out of wall... Under sink)....dust your window seals/crevices....dust your weep holes outside your home if it's a brick home. If it's a mobile... Lay down a barrier of boric acid around your skirt. Sprays typically don't work well on crazy ants or sugar ants (as a deterrent ) unless you make direct contact. They will avoid them. Sucrose/sugar based Baits from Lowes/Home depot work better. Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: jimco on September 30, 2013, 08:27:52 pm Talstar xtra for total ant control. Can be broadcast for large areas, spot treatment,
mound treatment, what ever. About 40 bucks a 25 lb. bag. Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: Yelladogwreckincrew on September 30, 2013, 08:35:07 pm Hate them! I had them move into the relays for my IDM, horn, and trailer light relays. Had me scratching my head trying to figure out what was wrong with my truck fir three days
Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: grittydog on September 30, 2013, 08:35:23 pm We had the outside done last week and we are doing the inside this week. They are a pain in the ass and becoming a big problem. I live close to Houston. These crazy ants can kill a fire ant. They do not have mounds they gather up under anything they can. I am ready for them to go away..

Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: josh54 on September 30, 2013, 09:59:39 pm Idk but have had old timers tell me if you put out sweet-n-low they will eat it but can't digest it and they die. I ain't never tried but it's cheap enough it may be worth a shot
Title: Re: Post by: Shotgun wg on September 30, 2013, 10:16:50 pm The best thing I have found for ants is phipronil. It's the same active ingredient that's in frontline. Over and out ant poison use to have it in it. I don't think it contains it anymore due to EPA issues. It would be real expensive but if u could buy some from a vet and put it in a spray bottle and spray around the entry points in the house it will kill them. If u find some old over and out that has it in the active ingredients sprinkle it around the yard and wet it with a garden hose. I have put it in a spray bottle with water and let set and shake it to mix it as good as possible then spray in the house. If they get in it it will kill the colony. If bees get in it it will kill the hive hence the EPA issue.

Title: Re: Crazy Ants... Post by: Hogdoggerdogos on October 07, 2013, 05:56:57 pm Termidor I/T or Bifen I/T works good. I have them by the millions dead and alive. It last about 2 weeks around my house. You can purchase either one of these over the counter. At least you can in Brazoria county. Do not over dose. The ants will dye to soon and not spread the poison to the other ants. Bifen I/T is cheaper works just as good and last just as long. Spray 3 feet up your walls and 10 feet out from your walls. These ants like trees so spray around your trees. Good luck.

Post by: wine6978 on October 17, 2013, 08:15:33 am Ok well I moved in and good lord I didnt know what I was up against. That Termidor SC is the bees knees!! Kills the heck outta them, but I cannot find anything to deter them. They die once they tough where I sprayed but cant keep em at bay. Now this may be completely un related but I think it is very related. I moved my dogs kennels. Got crazy ants all over them. They look like the wood is growing fur they are so thick. Now 2 gyp and one dog have their private parts raw... And I mean bad!!! The black dog had black balls that are now pink, and the 2 gyps have pink scabby vulvas. I dunno if the ants are doing it, or they are just crawling on them and causing them to lick em raw or what?!?!?!? Any ideas???
