Title: helicopter hunt Post by: heavyhitter89 on October 09, 2013, 05:50:57 pm has anyone ever done this, ive been looking into it but aint sure if it would be worth the money, I would rather catch them in the woods rather then shoot them from helicopter I think, just thought I would get some opinions if any of yall have done this
Title: Re: helicopter hunt Post by: charles on October 09, 2013, 06:13:34 pm not sure where u r located, but if ur in the Houston area, I got an army buddy that he and his father are doing helo hunts. here is his name n contact number if ur interested. thad walz 7853756047 they have a Robison R44 and thad is finishing up his commercial with instrument rating helicopter certificate, but he spent several yrs as a crew chief on a ch-47 Chinook so he knows both the flight and the mechanical portions of rotary wing flight. i'll be goin down there to help out when I can between finishing my private fixed wing certificate with instruments and transitioning into the r44 myself in may for my commercial with instrument rating and will help out working on the helo and flying too once I get my certificate

Title: Re: helicopter hunt Post by: charles on October 09, 2013, 08:35:00 pm I don't know, u'd hav to contact thad. most iv seen average $800-1500 a day, depending what tye of helo it is, turbines ie: bell jet ranger or the md 500 cost more mostly bc the cost of jet a and the turbine engine its self. I think them little engines cost around $150,000+ for a reman.
